Dubai Health has forged numerous strategic partnerships with leading academic, technology, and government institutions to supercharge healthcare innovation, research and education under its integrated academic health system model. These agreements were unveiled during WHX Tech 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
A memorandum of understanding between Dubai Health and Siemens Healthineers was unveiled. Its scope includes co-developing innovation programmes, notably the Design4Change Innovation Week scheduled for February 2026, and a separate initiative to launch a sustainability in healthcare curriculum through the Dubai Health Leadership Academy. These endeavours aim to ensure long-term capacity building in digital health and sustainable practices.
Another key initiative, the Healthcare Sandbox pilot, has been initiated through a collaboration involving Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Chambers, Dubai Digital Authority, Dubai Health Authority, and Dubai Health. This programme is designed to provide a live platform for testing new healthcare technologies and use cases. One focus is advancing high-impact research projects such as PainDetect, an AI-driven tool led by Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, which aims to offer objective measurements for pain.
MBRU also entered an MoU with Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity to support the development of health science startups. Among the startups being supported is Virufy, which uses AI in a mobile app for prescreening infectious respiratory diseases. This work is being advanced through Nafasy. AI, a venture tied to both Prototypes for Humanity and the University of Washington.
Design and creativity are being emphasised too. The Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation will deepen its long-standing collaboration with MBRU to foster design thinking in healthcare solutions. Faculty and student exchange programmes will be part of this, along with joint projects such as the Design4Health Bootcamp.
Strategic deals have also been struck with major global technology firms. Dubai Health has agreed with Schneider Electric and Microsoft to develop “Intelligent Hospital” models aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability of healthcare environments. Huawei remains a key partner, particularly in validating the latest digital health technologies, including features on wearable devices.
