MANAMA, 7 hours, 15 minutes ago

Mercury Middle East and North Africa, a leading mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) company, has won a deal to provide the turnkey solutions for the new data centre for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD).

The Barjeel Data Centre will service as the information technology hub for the bank’s regional and international operations, said a statement.

The company will carry out the full MEP installations and co-ordination of the Modular Data Centre (MDC) installations.

The scope of work will include the provision of a fully intelligent Building Information Modelling (BIM) with integrated FM functionality, which Mercury Mena will operate for the first year post Taking Over Certificate (TOC).

The turnkey installation of phase one of the data centre will include all civil, building and MEP works. It involves an administration building and two enclosure buildings to house the electrical distribution system to supply Modular Data Centre (MDC) units, which will be installed on the roof of the enclosure buildings.

The administration building will have provision for future enclosure buildings, which will form phase two. The services will include civil works, building works, landscaping, mechanical works, electrical works, fire protection systems, public health systems, life safety systems, security systems, site wide infrastructure and telecommunications.

Also working on the project will be other well-known names such as American engineering consultants, CH2M Hill and Project Quantity Surveyor, Bruceshaw. – TradeArabia News Service
