Panama Papers case is historic for making Sharif accountable: Imran Khan – ARY NEWS

IMRAN KHAN 4

SAHIWAL: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that the Panama Papers case is historic as for the first time the ruling family is being held accountable in Pakistan.

Imran Khan addressing a public rally in Sahiwal said that they will fully support the decision of the Supreme Court but will never accept the corruption of the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“No family has spoken as much lies as the Sharif family,” he remarked adding that they have unleashed their aides to justify and make excuses which will cause more harm than good.

He said that Pakistan is blessed with immense resources and can become a prosperous nation if it is properly managed but still state institutions are suffering from enormous financial losses.

“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has immense gas reserves and gas comes out when people dig wells,” he said.

However, still the government is looking forward to import expensive LNG from Qatar as it serves their business interests.

“The Qatari letter (in Panama Papers) is also from the business partners of Nawaz Sharif,” he claimed.

He said that the culture of favoritism and nepotism compelled talented educated youth to leave the country and seek employment in United States and Europe.

But, now President Donald Trump is giving the impression that visas will not be issued to Pakistanis. Imran Khan said that he believes that this will be a blessing in disguise as it would help to develop our own nation.

However, he called on the government to take a reciprocal response and also issuing stop visas to Americans if they halt visas for Pakistan, just like a similar stand taken by Iran.

He expressed dismay that our leaders take millions from the country rather than invest in their own nation. He said that this increases the debt burden, and vowed to not rest until the wealth of the nation is brought back.

Imran Khan also issued a warning to Indian Narendra Modi saying that every Pakistani is not like Nawaz Sharif and will take appropriate action if necessary. However, he said that overwhelming number of Indians do not want war but rather peace with Pakistan.

He vowed to continue his struggle for the rights of the farmers and provide them cheap raw materials, seeds and loans. He also promised to fight for minority rights and bring development projects in the next election.
