The Samsung Galaxy S8 series has been the talk of the town. Be it the rumored curved display or the speculations that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will most probably adopt a 3,000 mAh and 3500 mAh battery, respectively.
While people were actually debating whether Samsung will be using which batteries, notable leakster Evan Blass who goes by the Twitter handle @evleaks has given more fodder to the rumor mills.
He has shared a picture on his Twitter account which shows off the Samsung smartphone’s logo, suggesting that Samsung may not be releasing the Galaxy S8 series with the “edge” branding. It will instead call the successor of the Galaxy S7 edge, the Galaxy S8+.

Samsung Doing Away With Edge Brand?
The logo shared by the leakster suggests also that Samsung may be looking to get rid of the “edge” branding with the arrival of the Galaxy S8+.
This could be a possibility as the company may be looking to differentiate between the two smartphones’ sizes as unlike the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will reportedly deploy a curved screen.
The usage of the “+” would highlight the fact that the smartphone is a bigger version just like Apple does with its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
However, whether Samsung will completely do away with the “edge” brand remains to be seen. The company could potentially use this for some other products in the near future.
Galaxy S8+: Rumored Specs And Features
Per rumors, the Galaxy S8+ smartphone is expected to be bigger than the earlier Samsung Galaxy smartphones. The rumored Galaxy S8+ is expected to deploy a 6.2-inch display. Under the hood, the smartphone may house the Snapdragon 835 processor and 4 GB of RAM.
The smartphone will feature not only a fingerprint scanner, which will be placed on the rear of the handset, but also an iris scanner like the Galaxy Note 7. It is also expected to have the rumored Bixby voice assistant on board.
Reports have also suggested that the Galayx S8+ may be more popular than its smaller sibling. This assertion is based on previous consumers behavior for the Samsung smartphones.
The Galaxy S8+ will apparently be $100 more expensive than the Galaxy S8. However, considering both the handsets will have practically the same features, it will be interesting to see if consumers pay $100 more for a bigger screen alone.
Release
The Galaxy S8+ or the Galaxy S8 Plus as it was previously dubbed, will most probably be introduced on March 29 alongside its sibling Galaxy S8. The two smartphones will supposedly hit the U.S. shelves on April 21.
