The cast of Top Gear are in Dubai this weekend and you can have a front-row seat to watch the action.

Posters have been placed in buildings in Dubai Marina inviting residents to watch the cast and crew, featuring presenter and former Friends star, Matt LeBlanc, shoot scenes in the picturesque district.

“Your waterfront community will be featured on an international show for the world to see. BBC’s Top Gear is filming in Dubai Marina,” read a poster produced by developer Emmar and placed on the noticeboard of Dubai Marina’s Al Sahab Tower.

Top Gear’s two day shoot — which runs from January 26 to 27 — follows the high profile visit of former hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

After leaving the programme under controversial circumstances in March 2015, the trio arrived in Dubai in December to produce scenes as part of their new and wildly popular Amazon Prime motoring show The Grand Tour.

Dubai will be the star of 13th and final episode of the debut series of The Grand Tour, to stream on Amazon Prime February 2.

While details of the Top Gear Dubai shoot remains under wraps, sources with knowledge of the production said the emirate will be featured as part of a plot where Top Gear’s presenters (including Chris Harris and Rory Reid) will race from Oman to the UAE using cars, yachts and planes.

Streaming on the subscription service STARZ Play Middle East, this is the third time the cast and crew of Top Gear have worked in the UAE in the last 10 months.

In March 2016, Harris was spotted racing an Aston Martin Vulcan in Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

He returned to the capital in September for further production and for a sit down with The National.

“I drive cars, quite fast and sideways, and I talk about them and entertain people through the medium of cars. I’ve done that for 15 or 20 years and I’m quite good at that,” he said when describing his role in the show.

“It’s if you step out of that that you get in trouble, so I’ve just focused on what I do and left the amazing team of people I’m surrounded by to do their stuff.”
