UAE-based shipyard, Gulf Craft, has announced that all the fly-bridge motor yachts it manufactures for the UAE market will be modified to meet Dubai Water Canal requirements.
The company said in a statement that its fleet of Majesty yachts and Nomad yachts will all be built in accordance with the height restrictions of Dubai Water Canal, as specified by the regulator, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The company added that the decision is part of its ongoing efforts to help owners experience the emirate’s newest waterway, allowing them to sail through the heart of Dubai within the comfort and safety of the canal.
Craig Rodgers, operations manager at Gulf Craft’s Majesty Yachts and Nomad Yachts facility, said: “By doing this, we ensure that our customers can enjoy all the leisure marine experiences the UAE has to offer,” adding that the first modified yachts will be available for review at the Dubai International Boat Show which will take place at the end of February.
Last month, Erwin Bamps, CEO of Gulf Craft said the newly-opened Dubai Water Canal project will change how boating is perceived in the UAE.
He said Dubai’s latest waterfront development will give yacht enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy “protective waterway cruising”, allowing them to sail through the heart of Dubai.
In September, the company announced that it plans to start manufacturing megayachts – yachts larger than 50 metres in length – marking the its entry into the exclusive league of global megayacht manufacturers.
Gulf Craft revealed the new concept designs for the 61-metre Majesty 200 and the 53-metre Majesty 175, both ready to be constructed upon order.
