People working for Abu Dhabi Government, the Armed Forces and Abu Dhabi Police are to receive their salaries on July 11, in anticipation of the impending Eid celebrations.
Military retirees will also receive their pensions on this day, the state news agency Wam reported.
The move was ordered by President Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Hamad Al Suwaidi, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Finance, said the move would enable employees to meet their needs and fulfil the demands of their families for Eid Al Fitr.
Other emirates to have implemented similar rules include Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai.
In Ras Al Khaimah, measures were immediately taken to implement the directives of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler, after his decision was made on July 2.
In Dubai, on the orders of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler, all Dubai government employees are expected to be paid on the same day as their counterparts in the capital.
At the time of the announcement, at the end of last month, Abdulrahman Al Saleh, director general of the emirate’s Finance Department, thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the gesture.
