EdgeNext Expands to Nigeria with CDN and Cloud Hosting Services

EdgeNext, a global edge cloud platform, has partnered with Rack Centre to launch its Content Delivery Network and cloud hosting services in Nigeria. The move is aimed at improving the digital experience for local users, enhancing speed and reliability across video, social media, gaming, and e-commerce platforms.

Nigeria, with a population exceeding 200 million, is one of Africa’s fastest-growing digital markets. The country’s young demographic and rising demand for mobile applications, gaming, e-commerce, and social media platforms have spurred the need for more robust digital infrastructure. EdgeNext’s expansion is designed to address this need by ensuring smoother, lower-latency services, ultimately enabling better performance for local businesses and consumers.

The new partnership allows EdgeNext to host its services at Rack Centre’s cutting-edge data centre in Lagos, a Tier III, cloud-neutral facility that has become a cornerstone of West Africa’s digital infrastructure. Through this collaboration, EdgeNext aims to improve application performance for enterprises, developers, and end-users across the country, while also driving down IT costs and improving overall service scalability.

EdgeNext’s acceleration network is already providing enhanced user experiences for a range of online services. With a focus on reducing latency, it enables faster content delivery across various platforms, improving digital media streaming, e-commerce transactions, and social media interactions. The network’s flexibility also supports small and medium-sized businesses, helping them deploy services more efficiently.

EdgeNext is also tapping into Nigeria’s burgeoning gaming sector. The company has begun developing gaming cloud solutions designed to enhance low-latency, high-concurrency capabilities for mobile, PC, and cloud gaming. This will ensure a more seamless gaming experience for users across the country, further solidifying the company’s role in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

EdgeNext is focused on supporting the broader adoption of edge cloud computing in Nigeria. Its solutions are expected to help foster advancements in key areas such as smart cities, fintech, digital education, and healthcare – all crucial to Nigeria’s ongoing digital transformation. By offering flexible cloud hosting resources, EdgeNext seeks to empower developers and businesses to accelerate their digital journeys.

Terence Wang, CEO of EdgeNext, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Launching our CDN and cloud hosting services in Nigeria marks a key milestone for EdgeNext. By partnering with Rack Centre, we are ensuring secure, reliable, and low-latency services for enterprises, developers, and end-users, helping Nigeria embrace a new era of cloud and edge computing.”

Rack Centre’s CEO, Lars Johannisson, also highlighted the significance of the collaboration, saying, “We are pleased to welcome EdgeNext to the Rack Centre ecosystem as a CDN and cloud hosting provider. EdgeNext’s arrival demonstrates the strength of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure ecosystem, and our LGS2 facility provides the capacity, connectivity, and sustainability that international providers need to serve this market effectively.”
