flynas expands UAE presence with new routes

Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier, flynas, has significantly expanded its operations within the United Arab Emirates, marking a major development in regional air connectivity. This expansion adds Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai to its growing network, enhancing air travel options between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These new routes complement the existing services to Dubai International Airport, making flynas the first Saudi airline to connect with all four major UAE airports.

The expansion, effective September 2024, introduces nine routes between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, significantly increasing the frequency of flights to over 20 daily. This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to transform the Kingdom into a global aviation hub by improving accessibility and catering to both tourists and business travelers.

flynas’ Managing Director and CEO, Bander Almohanna, emphasized the airline’s commitment to strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, noting that this expansion is a strategic step in their broader growth plan. Almohanna highlighted that this move is supported by the airline’s operational excellence and an expanded fleet, doubling in size over the past two years to meet the growing demand for low-cost travel in the region.

The airline’s new routes include connections from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Al Maktoum International Airport, and from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. These additions are part of flynas’ broader strategy to serve 165 domestic and international destinations by 2030, furthering Saudi Arabia’s goals of accommodating 330 million passengers annually.
