AR 170509453

RAS AL KHAIMAH // A man was killed in a car accident when his vehicle veered off the road on Sunday morning in RAK.

The 37-year-old Asian man was a passenger in the car of his friend, 27, who is from the same Asian country. The driver lost control of his car and hit a lamppost at 8am on Al Shuhada Road.

Brig Hassan Ibrahim Ali, deputy director general of central operations at RAK Police, said that initial investigations revealed that another car cut in front of their vehicle and this affected the driver’s concentration and control of the car.

The man’s body was taken to hospital before being handed over to his family for a funeral.

Brig Ali asked all motorists to adhere to traffic rules and speed limits.
