Loke G and Fernando “Feroz” Vargas Sr

Coach Sal Poe with Loke G

The Vargas Dynasty put in work in the Rio Grande Valley as they remain undefeated and continue to climb the ranks. Loke G of AKM Publishing to witness.

We fight smart, fight intelligent, pick our shots, be very smart about how we place our feet. That’s how we win.”

— Mikey Garcia

HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — August 25th, 2023, in Edinburg, TX, the spirit of competition was crazy at The Boxfest, but the spotlight truly shone on two of the three Vargas boys who took center stage for the main event and undercard. In a night that echoed with the roar of both cheering, and booing crowd, the duo asserted their dominance, continuing their undefeated streak in the Rio Grande Valley.

As the punches landed and the crowd erupted, Loke G, General Manager at AKM Publishing, was front and center to witness history in the making. It was not just the victories that drew attention, but the fashion of which the victories occurred. Also in the crowd, was young superstar of the Enky-Boys, Brice da Dice, to witness the immense energy erupting from the spectacle. With the crack of the leather punches and the shouts of the fighters echoing the arena, emotions ran wild as the fans cheered for their favorites and others booed for their rivals.

“It’s all about intelligence,” Emiliano “El General” Vargas said, backstage when asked if he had any advice for his older brothers that would be fighting in mere moments. “You’ve got to apply what you’ve learned in training camp, day in and day out. That’s the real secret.” Both Fernando “Ferocious” Vargas Jr and middle brother Amado “El Malvado” Vargas demonstrated tremendous discipline as they both applied strategy and real work in the ring later that night.

With the adrenaline of Boxfest still coursing through his veins, Emiliano is already looking to the future. A fight in Corpus Christi, presented by TopRank, is on the horizon. And if his brothers’ performance at Boxfest is any indicator, Corpus Christi is in for a treat. While many boxers tend to celebrate between big fights, Emiliano is maintaining his fighting shape year-round, always ready for the next challenge. When Fernando “Feroz” Vargas Sr. was asked for a quote, he humbly thanked all the supporters and demonstrated appreciation for the sport and all of its fans around the world.

Boasting an audience of boxing enthusiasts and several noteworthy names, the event was graced by legendary boxers including five-time world champ Mikey Garcia, two-time world champion Josesito Lopez, and 956’s very own world champ, Brandon Lee Figueroa. Their presence, alongside the rising stars, elevated the energy of the arena, reminding everyone of the rich legacy and bright future of the sport. At some point in the event, the ring ropes were damaged and had to be repaired. This created an unplanned intermission which provided a great opportunity for these legendary guests to speak directly to the attendees and a great moment of improvisation was created. These moments in time are the reason why attending live events is so much more rewarding than any other way of consuming this type of entertainment.

Adding to the crazy atmosphere, Coach Sal Poe worked tirelessly backstage. His expertise was evident as he worked in tandem with Team Vargas and Marvnation, ensuring every detail was handled, and every fighter was primed for their moment in the ring. Capturing many moments of greatness and using his talented eye to spot the perfect opportunity for content and creativity.

While the Vargas boys were the talk of the night, other fighters also left an indelible mark. Bocanegra gave a masterclass in quick finishes, knocking out Yanez in just 26 seconds of the first round. Angel “El Moreno” Rodriguez wasn’t far behind, securing a knockout win against Armas. When asked for a quote he simply thanked the Rio Grande Valley for the support. And the future of boxing from Pico Rivera, looks promising as 17-year-old Nathan El Morenito Rodriguez marked a victory against Jonas Castillo.

Boxfest was not just an evening of entertainment; it was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. The Vargas boys, along with every fighter who stepped into the ring, demonstrated that the spirit of boxing in the Rio Grande Valley is alive, thriving, and undoubtedly, unstoppable. History is being made as all Vargas Brothers continue to dominate, and their undefeated records continue.

Lords Of Fortune Releases its Expanded Report on a 45 Ton Tsarist State Bank Shipment of US Gold Eagle Coins, a Treasure by Itself Exceeding $7 Billion

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, USA, August 31, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — Lords of Fortune LLC today released its updated and greatly expanded research report RMS Republic, Cargo: Russian State Bank Shipment, authored by Capt. Martin Bayerle. “For years, I had focused all my research efforts on Republic’s oft-quoted cargo of $3 million in American Gold Eagle coins. That cargo was also the subject of my 2013 book The Tsar’s Treasure, and my 2016 History Channel nine-episode series Billion Dollar Wreck,” Bayerle said. In 2017, Bayerle came into information suggesting that the reported $3 million Russian State Bank shipment was only a part of a much larger $25 million shipment, today estimated to exceed $7 billion.

“This August we uncovered bank records which confirm our hypothesis and explain the transaction. In brief, the Russian State Bank redeemed $25 million in its 1904 War Bonds which Russia had issued to fight the Japanese. Those bonds matured in 1909. $25 million face-value in 1909 bearer bonds replaced the 1904 bonds. The 1909 bonds were sold on Wall Street at a discounted price of $22 million. The $3 million balance owed to the 1904 bondholders was paid in cash. That’s where the reports of Republic’s oft-quoted $3 million cargo originated. $3 million was only a part of the $25 million Russian State Bank shipment,” He continued, “That’s 45 tons of US gold coins. That makes us the G.O.A.T. We will be the largest treasure recovery of all time, bar none!”

RMS Republic was a 570-foot long, 15,000-ton White Star Line luxury liner that sank in January 1909 after leaving from New York for Europe, carrying many wealthy passengers and their baggage, thousands of sacks of mail, a large shipment of US Navy supplies (including a payroll for 16,000 sailors), as well as an only-rumored shipment of $3 million in U.S. gold coins. The ship was T-boned in very dense fog by an incoming Italian immigrant ship, the SS Florida, in the early morning hours of January 23, 1909, about 50 miles south of Nantucket, Massachusetts. She stayed afloat for 39 hours after the collision, allowing all passengers to transfer to other vessels via lifeboats and enough time for tug boats to begin towing Republic back to the U.S. coast for repairs. Passengers were told to hold onto their stateroom keys and they could retrieve all their belongings once the injured ship was safely back in port. However, Republic didn’t make it. The “unsinkable ship” slipped beneath the waves on the way back with all cargo and passenger belongings still on board. At the time, RMS Republic was the largest ship to sink in history until she would be surpassed 3 years later, in 1912, by another unsinkable luxury White Star Liner, Titanic. However, what was the end of Republic’s story as a reliable luxury liner transporting wealthy passengers and cargo transformed into the beginning of another one – that of a lost sunken shipwreck containing, as one treasure book author put it, “riches beyond most men’s wildest dreams.”

Republic soon became a hot topic among salvage outfits of the time, but at 270 feet below the surface she was, at the time, technologically out of reach. Titanic was lost in 1912. World War I, the 1917 overthrow by the Bolsheviks of the Tsarist Government, and the Great Depression soon followed; the Republic’s rumored cargo, except in treasure lore, soon faded from history.

While the physical recovery of the cargo was impossible until the 1960s, and, even today remains technologically daunting, research was the greatest challenge: solving the mystery. Enter Martin Bayerle, who sought to locate the wreck, found her in 1981 and has been digging through archives all over the world and piecing together the details ever since. What kept the cargo in place was primarily the secrecy regarding the specifics of her cargoes, and the original government ownership interests. The Tsarist Government had ceased to exist in 1917, and the Bolsheviks soon repudiated all Tsarist debt. “There was simply no Government with whom to contract a salvage, and the British, French and Americans were not going to give the Bolsheviks this gold, gold acquired from their sale of repudiated, worthless bonds,” said Bayerle.

The US Government litigated with Bayerle’s company for over a decade claiming that it owned “all” the gold aboard. “We have also proven a 1909 $800,000 US Navy shipment, todays value at about $200 million. And the US Government ended up with a subrogated interest to the Tsarist gold. When the Bolsheviks repudiated Tsarist debt in 1918, the US Government bailed out the New York banks and investors who had purchased Tsarist bonds; the ownership then fell to them. The problem for the US Government is that, shortly after they had recognized the Soviet Union in 1933, they then paid themselves from seized Tsarist assets, assets which the US Government had frozen in 1918. So, the US Government couldn’t double dip into Republic’s gold,” Martin Bayerle said. The US Government’s claim has since been dismissed with prejudice and, in 2011, Bayerle’s company was awarded legal title to the wreck and all of her cargoes by the U.S. District Court in Boston. All future claims were also barred by the Court.

“The next step is to remove several thousand tons of collapsed decks and debris on top of where we believe the gold to be,” remarks Bayerle. “A minimum of $6.5 million is needed to reach the gold chamber. The total expense is expected to fall in the range of $20-25 million. But once gold is seen, on a $10 billion cargo, we can debt finance any amount needed to complete the recovery. If we could make a business case and decided, then, to raise the entire ship at a cost of $400 million, even that would be possible.”

“We’ll let the market determine our current valuation. We’re looking for the right partners to structure a deal,” said Bayerle.

Barcelona studio to open in early 2024 and work is underway on a new third-person action-adventure title.

AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA, August 31, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — Arctic7, which provides a robust suite of full-scale and co-development services in game development and virtual production services for the movie and TV industry, has today announced it will open a new facility in Barcelona, bolstering overall European presence alongside its existing studio in Montenegro.

The studio is scheduled to open in early 2024. Kedhrin Gonzalez will continue in his role as Studio Head of Arctic7 Montenegro and will add the Barcelona studio to his remit with the new studio significantly increasing development capacity available for full game and co-development work with partner projects and internal IP Arctic7 is developing, the first of which is also teased for the first time this week and presented to potential partners.

The as-yet unnamed title is a post-civilisation, third-person action-adventure title built using Unreal Engine 5. Humans thrive in the ruins of a world that fights off a new dark age thanks to the vestiges of technology but are faced with a growing challenge from the reawakening of ancient spiritual forces. Gameplay is built around deep exploration, emotional narrative and a sophisticated and evolving combat system.

Kedhrin Gonzalez, Arctic7 Europe Studio Head, said: “At Arctic7 Europe, while we continue to focus on building strong partnerships for our co-development work, we’re always trying to think of ways to push forward our skills and fuel our passion for making great games for partners. This project is a direct result of that passion and draws on the teams’ experience working on some of the world’s leading games such as Halo, Rainbow Six series and more.”

Arctic7 Chief Executive Officer Igor Efremov said: “Over the past year, we have significantly grown our full game, co-development and virtual production capabilities as we look to establish a leadership position in the space and all focused on delivering great entertainment experiences for our partners and players. We are proud to announce that we are continuing to grow Arctic7 in Barcelona, which will be an additional hub for both full game development and co-development projects. I believe the historic city of Barcelona will be a great steppingstone forwards, giving us access to a rich talent pool so that we can turn out even more entertainment experiences.’’

The news follows a recent announcement that Arctic7 had appointed a new commercial team, featuring a variety of seasoned industry leaders to build exceptional partnerships and pursue an array of new business opportunities.

Established in 2022, Arctic7 is a fully independent collection of four studios, strategically situated in the US, Canada and Europe with capabilities across gaming and media industries. Each studio is an integral part of Arctic7’s collective strength with more than 150 dedicated professionals working across internally developed IP, co-development projects and virtual production.

Razor vs. Lights Out

Donovan “Razor” Ruddock vs. James “Lights Out” Toney at Jamaica’s Epic “Rumble In Sun” Boxing Match.

In November, for the first time, Donovan “Razor” Ruddock and James “Lights Out” Toney square off in an epic boxing match.

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, August 28, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — Legendary Jamaican-Canadian boxing Heavyweight Champion Donovan “Razor” Ruddock returns to his birthplace of Jamaica for an inaugural match against the International Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee and Champion James “Lights Out” Toney at the mega “Rumble In The Sun” event on Saturday, November 11, 2023, inside Kingston’s iconic Sabina Park. This historic match-up marks Ruddock’s first time competing in a boxing match in Jamaica. Rumble In The Sun is a revolutionary match and a catalytic mechanism for philanthropic partnerships with the Red Ground District primary school and Gloves Over Guns initiative and for establishing Jamaica as an international boxing destination.

“Jamaica is the birthplace and heritage of some of the most dynamic and talented boxers,” says Ruddock. “I am excited to participate in a groundbreaking boxing match that will change the world’s perception of this beautiful country.”

Noted as one of the 100 greatest punchers of all time due to his signature “smash,” an impression and hybrid left-hand punch, Ruddock was born in St. Catherine’s parish and immigrated to Toronto, Canada, with family in his youth. While there, he fine-tuned his burgeoning boxing skills and, in March 1980, defeated Lennox Lewis as a teenage amateur boxer at the Ontario Junior Boxing Championship. Since becoming a professional boxer in 1982, he has garnered knockout wins against former WBA heavyweight champions Michael Dokes and James “Bonecrusher” Smith and held the WBA inter-continental heavyweight title. In 1991, Ruddock battled against “Iron” Mike Tyson in two matches, one of which he fought nine rounds despite sustaining a broken jaw in round three.

His opponent James Toney has held “world champions in three weight classes” and was voted Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America in 1991 and 2003. As a youth, Toney was inspired to become a boxing champion after watching fellow International Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns box at the August 1980 WBA Welterweight Championship. Since becoming a professional boxer at age 20 and winning his first fight against Stephen Lee in October 1988, Toney has competed in 92 fights, including 77 wins and 47 knockouts. Toney returns to the ring after a six-year hiatus following his 2017 unanimous vote and win against Mike Sheppard.

“Years from now, people will still be talking about one of the greatest boxing matches of all time between me and Razor,” says James Toney. “My career is filled with history-making moments in boxing, and Rumble In The Sun is no exception.”

Rumble In The Sun is proudly endorsed by the Jamaican Boxing Board and partners with the Gloves Over Gun initiative. “There are youth today using boxing as a platform for personal development, social support and community cohesion,” says Stephen “Bomber” Jones, Jamaica Boxing Board president. “Having them witness such an event will further cement in their minds boxing as a vehicle for the way forward.”

Premier global sports and entertainment digital platform FITE by Triller will broadcast the event live on pay-per-view via cable and satellite networks. For the latest information, visit the event website at www.rumbleinthesun.com.
