Fraugster, a German and Israeli startup that has developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to help eliminate payment fraud, has raised $5 million in funding. Earlybird led the round, alongside existing investors Speedinvest, Seedcamp and an unnamed large Swiss family office. The new capital will be used to add to Fraugster’s headcount as it expands internationally. Founded in 2014 by Max Laemmle, who previously co-founded payment gateway company Better Payment, and Chen Zamir, who I’m told has spent more than a decade in

Sometimes it's really hard to understand what Donald Trump is getting at, you know? Add an accordion though, and all those big league hand gestures just make a lot more sense. Russian hacks and Mexican walls all sound a tad more relaxing (but still horrible) when accompanied by the dulcet tones of a squeezebox. The ABC's Huw Parkinson put this one together, and really, we can't thank him enough.Via ASDA Alltop

Rex Tillerson, the former Exxon chief, didn’t get where he is by being nice to China. When Beijing tried to force his company to abandon a gas exploration project in the waters off Vietnam in 2008, ExxonMobil showed it the finger. BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and several others caved to Chinese pressure. ExxonMobil is still there, drilling on a Vietnamese license in waters also claimed by China. Is Tillerson about to do the same on behalf of the United States? On Wednesday,

Throughout the presidential campaign and since Donald Trump’s election, former diplomats, retired generals, and foreign-policy analysts have attempted to decipher, explain, and predict his foreign-policy strategy. Will he pursue the big-stick model of Teddy Roosevelt? Embrace a neo-Nixonian “madman” strategy? Is Trump actually a champion of foreign-policy realism, or perhaps no realist at all? But all those questions make the same mistake — they assume the incoming administration has an incipient grand strategy at all. In reality, the president-elect’s foreign-policy approach

As Rick and Morty fans are left, still wondering when Season 3 of the animated series will be released, the folks at Adult Swim are hoping to placate them with tidbits of internet content. One of the most impressive so far is this "8-bit" version of the show's intro, animated by Paul Robertson of Super Dino Boys.Sure, there's a bit of artistic license in defining the animation as 8-bit, thanks to the complexity of these graphics (compared to what you'd see

President-elect Donald Trump may be at war with the intelligence community, but on Thursday his pick to head the CIA tried to bridge the rift between the incoming president and his spies, saying he accepts the assessment that Russia meddled in the election to boost the Republican’s candidacy. “It’s pretty clear about what took place here, about Russian involvement in efforts to hack information and to have an impact on American democracy,” Rep. Mike Pompeo (R.-Kan.) told the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Only year later, Vector has been acquired for an undisclosed price by global wearable giant Fitbit. Founder and CTO Andrei
