20th Century Fox just dropped the official poster and release date for its next entry in the Alien franchise, Alien: Covenant.
The poster, which features a threatening close-up of a Xenomorph, simply says ‘run’. At the bottom the May 19th release date is revealed.
Though a sequel to the somewhat divisive Prometheus, the poster suggests Covenant may be going back to Alien’s old-school horror roots. Covenant star Michael Fassbender recently opened up about a twist on his character in the new film, as well as the new name for Xenomorphs.
Further good news for horror fans: Alien: Covenant is also targeting a “pretty hard R” rating.
