Philips inaugurates new regional office in Qatar

Doha, Qatar – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) announced today that is has officially opened its new scientific office in Qatar.

The new opening comes as part of the company’s overall expansion efforts across the region, and commitment to drive robust partnerships in Qatar with an aim to develop stronger healthcare outcomes.

The opening ceremony included Her Excellency, Bahia Tahzib-Lie, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Qatar; Jan Kimpen, Philips Global Chief Medical Officer, Arjen Radder, Philips CEO for the Middle East and Turkey; Sheikh Mohamed Bin Khalid Al Thani, Philips partners in Qatar in addition to business leaders.

Arjen Radder said, ‘‘Qatar is an important market for Philips. The new office opening reflects Philips’ growing commitment towards investing in the wider region.  Our underlying vision is to make the world healthier and more sustainable through innovation.  To that extent, Qatar is a key pillar to our regional strategy as a leading healthcare innovator across the GCC.”

“We are keen to working with the Qatar government to help build an innovative approach towards a stronger healthcare infrastructure, in line with the Qatar National Health strategy. The aim is to optimize healthcare data management, enhance clinical performance, patient experience, and deliver an added value to the local health system. The new office will allow us to provide a more tailored program to consumers and businesses in Qatar,” added Radder.
