The annual PC games discount festival, aka Steam Autumn Sale is now live, and along with it, Valve has introduced the Steam Awards.
The Steam Awards aren’t your regular yearly awards, where you chose the Game of the Year and all of that sort, and neither does it aim to be one. Instead, the awards are designed to enhance discoverability of games and give Steam users a chance to nominate their all-time favorite games.
The categories include:
- The ‘Test of Time’ Award
- The ‘I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye’ Award
- The ‘Just 5 More Minutes’ Award
- The ‘Whoooaaaaaaa, Dude!’ Award
- The ‘Villain Most in Need of a Hug’ Award
- The ‘Game Within a Game’ Award
- The ‘I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award’ Award and,
- The ‘Best Use of A Farm Animal’ Award
There is also an additional option, called the ‘We Didn’t Think of Everything’ Award, where users can create their own award category and nominate a game of their choosing. Naturally, the collective hive of Reddit has begun nominating Half Life 2: Episode Two for ‘Game That Deserves A Sequel’ Award. I have personally cast my for vote for it, and I implore you to do the same. It’s for the betterment of humanity, and damn it, we need some of that right now.
The nominations will be held between November 23-29, which is also the duration of the Steam sale. Let us know which games you will be voting for, as well as the awesome deal(s) you just nabbed.
