BBK announces a restructuring and new appointments in its Executive Management

BBK has recently announced new appointments in its Executive Management as part of a re-organization plan recently approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors and the Central Bank of Bahrain. The new structure aims to foster the Bank’s three years strategy (2016-2018), in addition to achieving the future vision and expectations of the Bank’s shareholders and stakeholders.

The new organization included the following appointments: Dr. Abdulrahman Saif – Deputy Chief Executive – Head of Wholesales Banking Group; Mr. Mohammed Malik – Deputy Chief Executive – Head of Retail Banking Group ; Mr. Jamal Al Sabbagh – General Manager – Head of Information Technology & Operations Group; Mr. Hassan Mohammed Burshaid – General Manager – Head of Human Resources and Administration Group; Mr. Mohammed Abdulla Isa – General Manager and Head of Financial Planning and Control Group ; and Mr. Neil Sharp –  Assistant General Manager – Head of Treasury & Investment Division.

On this occasion, the Bank’s Chief Executive Mr. Reyadh Sater expressed his delight with the new appointments, praising the valuable efforts of the Board of Directors in nurturing the national calibers and qualifying the Bahrainis to assume key positions in a leading organization, with the size of BBK.

“Those appointments and internal promotions are the fruitful outcome of the succession planning strategy which the Bank has adopted throughout the years and has carefully adhered to. We strongly believe that the Bahraini talents are endowed with leadership spirit and expertise which certainly enable them to compete with global standards, thanks also to the commitment of the Board of Directors to support them at all levels. These appointments come in line with the re-organization structure of the senior management and aim at fostering the Bank’s strategy plan and its development goals for ensuring the aspired success and stability of this great organization”, he added.

I am confident that their dedicated and relentless efforts will greatly contribute to strengthening the financial, economic and banking foundations  of the Bank in particular, and of the Kingdom of Bahrain in general”, Mr. Reyadh Sater concluded.

Dr. Abdulrahman Saif, appointed as Deputy Chief Executive – Head of Wholesales Banking Group has an extensive experience spanning over 34 years at key organizations such as the  Central Bank of Bahrain and in the banking services sector. He is a holder of a PhD Degree in Economics from the University of Leicester – United Kingdom in 1992. He joined the management team of BBK in 2008. Dr. Saif will be responsible for the Corporate and International  banking services as well as the Treasury and Investment in BBK.

Mr. Mohammed Malik, appointed as Deputy Chief Executive – Head of Retail Banking Group; has a long experience of more than 31 years in the banking field, in various organizations such CrediMax, BBK’s wholly owned subsidiary, which he headed for many years. He is a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Petroleum & Minerals – Saudi Arabia – 1984. Mr. Malik will be responsible for the Retail banking services, in addition to the Remedial management. He will also be overseeing a number of strategic projects of the Bank.

Mr. Jamal Al Sabbagh, appointed as General Manager – Head of Information Technology & Operations Group, has a professional experience spanning more than 36 years in the banking sector. He is a holder of a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Glamorgan – United Kingdom – 2001. He joined BBK in 1980. Mr. Al Sabbagh will be responsible of the Group’s Information Technology and Operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bank’s overseas branches.

Mr. Hassaan Mohammed Burshaid, appointed as General Manager –  Head of Human Resources and Administration Group, his experience in the field of human resources in the private and public sectors spans over 22 years. He is a holder of a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from DePaul University, USA – 2006. He joined BBK in 1998. Mr. Burshaid will be responsible for the Group’s Human Resources and Administration operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bank’s overseas branches.

Mr. Mohammed Abdulla Isa, appointed as General Manager – Head of Financial Planning & Control Group, has a long experience of 25 years in financial management. He is Certified  Public Accountant from the US Institute of Chartered Accountants – Delaware State Board of Accountancy, USA – 2001. He joined BBK in 2001. Mr. Isa will be responsible for the Group’s financial operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bank’s overseas branches.

Mr. Neil Sharp, appointed as Assistant General Manager – Head of Treasury & Investment Division. He has a long experience in the banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries. Mr. Sharp joined BBK in 2009 and holds several professional certificates.
