The issue is not confined to Ayodhya, nor to Hindu institutions. Across denominations, religious endowments, […]

New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has become the centre of a sharp youth-led challenge to the government, with Cockroach Janta Party supporters extending their sit-in over exam scandals and unemployment while pressing for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign.

The protest, now in its fourth day, has drawn students, job aspirants and young supporters of a movement that began as online satire and quickly turned into a street mobilisation. Demonstrators have slept at the protest site, banged steel plates with spoons, raised slogans and used humour as a political weapon against what they describe as a broken education and recruitment system.

The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, was launched by Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old political communications strategist and Boston University student, after a Supreme Court judge’s remark comparing some jobless youth to “cockroaches” angered many young people. The group embraced the insult as a badge of survival, saying the term captured the resilience of a generation struggling with paper leaks, cancelled exams, high coaching costs and limited formal work opportunities.

Its rise has been unusually fast. The movement built a following of more than 22 million on Instagram within weeks, overtaking several established political handles and forcing parties across the spectrum to respond. Its supporters say that online reach is only the first stage, and the Jantar Mantar protest is intended to prove that digital anger can move into organised public action.

The immediate trigger is the NEET-UG 2026 controversy. More than two million candidates had to sit for a re-examination on 21 June after allegations that the original medical entrance test paper was compromised. The episode prompted extraordinary security measures, including biometric checks, heightened police presence and tighter monitoring of communication channels. Telegram was temporarily restricted after claims that leaked papers and fraudulent exam material were being circulated through the platform.

The National Testing Agency has said the re-examination was conducted under enhanced safeguards and has rejected claims that the fresh paper was leaked. It has warned students against fraudsters offering answer keys or question papers for money, while cybercrime officials have been asked to act against accounts spreading false claims. For many candidates, however, the distinction between confirmed leaks, fake leaks and administrative failure has done little to calm anger after months of uncertainty.

CJP supporters accuse the education ministry of failing to protect the integrity of high-stakes examinations that shape careers for millions of families. Their demand for Pradhan’s resignation has become the central slogan of the protest, though the movement’s wider language reaches beyond NEET. It links exam scandals with joblessness, inflation, expensive coaching centres and the feeling that young people are being asked to absorb the costs of institutional failure.

At Jantar Mantar, the movement’s theatrical style has been central to its visibility. The banging of plates echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2020 appeal during the pandemic, when people were asked to honour frontline workers from balconies and rooftops. CJP used the same sound as protest, turning a familiar public ritual into a message of anger. Supporters have also called for symbolic actions such as diaper donations, using ridicule to keep attention on their demands.

Police have maintained a heavy presence around the protest site, using cameras and drones to monitor the gathering. Demonstrators have alleged that basic facilities were restricted as pressure mounted on them to leave, while organisers have said they will continue unless accountability is fixed. Dipke has told supporters that the movement is open to dialogue, but only after the education minister steps down.

The government has not accepted the demand for resignation. Officials have emphasised investigations, tighter safeguards and action against fraud networks. The dispute has nevertheless widened into a political issue, with opposition figures describing the CJP phenomenon as a signal of youth frustration while also arguing that lasting change must be carried through established political structures.

By K Raveendran The new FCRA rules may look like an administrative tightening of India’s foreign funding regime, but their political effect is likely to be far larger than their legal wording suggests. On paper, the framework is simple: organisations receiving foreign donations must be more precise about what they do, where they operate, and […]

Part of the wider ATOMS Group, NAMAA steps out of stealth to share the scale of its food infrastructure portfolio and outline its long-term commitment to building the systems that power F&B across the region

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Media OutReach Newswire – 23 June 2026 – NAMAA, a real estate technology group that builds infrastructure to scale food delivery and production and a part of the wider ATOMS Group, has publicly introduced its Middle East food infrastructure portfolio. Since 2019, the company has quietly acquired and developed 150 facilities across the region, each designed to serve a distinct function within the food and beverage (F&B) ecosystem. With a clear sense of where the market is heading, NAMAA is now ready to share what has been built and where it is going next.

A Deliberate Approach to Foundation-Building
From the outset, NAMAA chose to focus its energy on fundamentals: understanding the regional landscape, forging meaningful partnerships, and putting physical infrastructure in place. That groundwork has since translated into a portfolio of facilities spanning Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain. The portfolio currently comprises three core offerings:

  • KitchenPark facilities – Ready-to-use CloudKitchens® commercial kitchens and Central Processing Units (CPUs) for F&B brands looking to scale without the capital burden of traditional premises
  • ProFood Bespoke builds — Tailored culinary infrastructure designed around specific operational requirements
  • CloudRetail – Purpose-built to close the gap between production and the end consumer
  • HungerHub – The region’s #1 chain of digital food courts
  • Picnic & Future Foods – Two new brands soon to be launched in the region

Significant and Sustained Investment
In 2025, NAMAA deployed close to $100 million across the Middle East, directed entirely towards expanding its footprint, supporting existing operators, and responding to the sustained demand it continues to see across markets. That investment is not slowing.

Dubai, in particular, has become a focal point. In 2026, NAMAA plans to invest approximately $40 million into the emirate alone, a marked increase from the $28 million committed there in 2025. It is a market NAMAA has come to regard as one of the most dynamic in the region: fast-moving, receptive to new models in food and logistics, and broadly supportive of the kind of infrastructure-led approach the company brings.

A Region at an Inflexion Point
The Middle East’s food landscape is shifting. Consumer demand is rising, supply chains are being rethought, and resilience has become a genuine priority for operators and governments alike. Against that backdrop, NAMAA sees a clear and enduring role for dedicated infrastructure not as a complement to the broader ecosystem, but as its foundation.

For NAMAA, the region is not just a deployment target. It is a long-term commitment that is built around empowering operators, supporting businesses of all sizes, and ultimately serving the communities these food systems exist to feed.

The Essential Clutch – Limited Edition is made from cactus leather, a plant-based vegan leather, with 100% recycled fabrics used for lining, straps, and protective padding, consistent with the materials across GLM’s collection. The interior lining, an exclusive Art Deco print, was designed to align with the Microsoft Surface Laptop, 13.8-inch, offering device owners a complementary piece that stands on its own as a considered accessory. As a limited-edition release, the restricted quantities reflect both the seasonal nature of the colorway and the brand’s broader commitment to low-waste production. The clutch is designed to carry necessary technology without bulk, supporting commutes, office environments, evening engagements, and travel days that require consolidation. It can be worn on its own or nested inside a larger tote to distribute weight across bags.

The Essential Clutch joins GLM’s existing range of slim laptop bags, which launched in the U.S. earlier this year. GLM was founded by Candina Weston, who brings more than 25 years of experience across technology, the PC industry, retail, marketing, and operations, including senior leadership roles in structured technology environments and brand-led businesses. This background informs the brand’s focus on real-world professional carry needs: device protection, a slim and structured silhouette, and a design philosophy that treats laptop carry as a daily requirement rather than purely functional.

GLM identifies its target audience as professionals across industries who care about style and whose daily routines involve movement.

“The Essential Clutch – Limited Edition is a natural extension of what GLM is built on,” said founder Candina Weston. “We designed it to sit alongside the devices people already carry, while keeping the same focus on slim, considered design that runs through the rest of the collection.” GLM currently serves customers in the United States and Singapore, with plans to expand into additional international markets within the next 12 months.Hashtag: #GLM
