BARCELONA, SPAIN – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 January 2026 – The 450 MHz spectrum is becoming a key driver in smart grids due to its unique advantages. Once seen as a traditional frequency band, it has seen revitalization for industrial digitalization.

At HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, Jason Li, President of Global Marketing & Solutions from Huawei’s Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit, gave a statement.

“In the power industry, there are three key trends on the distribution side. Firstly, a massive amount of new energy will be integrated into the grid. Taking China as an example, by 2030, the installed capacity of distributed PV will reach approximately 1,000 GW. Secondly, the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is expected to grow rapidly, with around 110 million EVs and approximately 55 million charging piles projected by 2030. This poses significant challenges for power distribution. Thirdly, digitalization is accelerating. AI has gone from a ‘nice-to-have’ to a ‘must-have.’ Power systems cannot achieve effective protection, automation, or digitization without high-quality data and reliable communication. In medium-voltage grids, we rely on private wireless networks to achieve reliable backhaul and support endpoint control. I believe 450 MHz is the optimal solution. As the lowest band within 3GPP standards, it offers wide coverage, supports vast amounts of connections, and provides highly reliable network performance, all at a low cost. Moreover, it benefits from a mature ecosystem. This makes it perhaps the best solution for power companies undergoing digital transformation.”

At Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Huawei will showcase more success stories in private wireless networks and 450 MHz applications, along with innovative solutions for intelligent power distribution, substations, and power plant inspections. To explore successful digital transformation in the power sector, visit the Huawei booth at stand 1H50, Fira Gran Via Hall 1. HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 22 January 2026 – This news release is made by Johnson Electric Holdings Limited (“Johnson Electric” or the “Company” and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) for the business operations and selected unaudited financial information of the Group for the nine months ended 31 December 2025.

The Group’s sales for the nine months ended 31 December 2025 were US$2,726 million compared to US$2,730 million for the same period in the previous financial year, a decrease of approximately US$4 million. Exchange rate movements had a favourable impact of US$40 million on the Group’s sales during the period.

Sales of Automotive Products Group (“APG”)

APG’s sales for the nine months ended 31 December 2025 were US$2,301 million, a decrease of US$14 million or 1% compared to the same period in financial year 24/25. Excluding currency effects, APG’s sales decreased by US$49 million or 2%.

The division’s sales changes by region, excluding currency effects, were as follows:

Nine months ended
31 December 2025
Asia-Pacific 6% Decrease
Europe, the Middle East and Africa 1% Decrease
Americas 1% Increase
Total 2% Decrease

In Asia-Pacific, sales decreased by 6%, driven by pricing adjustments implemented to remain competitive and weaker demand for non-domestic car brands in China, which has historically been a strong market for APG. This was partially offset by growth in sales to domestic car brands. Sales of products for thermal management, steering and closure applications, together with oil pumps decreased, partially offset by increased sales of products for braking, vision and transmission applications.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”), sales decreased by 1%. Sales of products for closure, vision and thermal management applications decreased, mitigated by increased sales of oil pumps, powder metal components and other products for transmission applications.

In the Americas, sales increased by 1%. Sales of powder metal components, oil pumps and products for thermal management applications increased, largely offset by decreased sales of products for braking and engine and fuel management applications due to the phasing out of certain programs.

The division’s sales changes by region, excluding currency effects, were as follows:

Nine months ended
31 December 2025
Asia-Pacific 1% Decrease
Europe, the Middle East and Africa 6% Increase
Americas 2% Decrease
Total 1% Increase

In Asia-Pacific, sales decreased by 1%, primarily due to significant price competition affecting both IPG and some of its customers in certain product segments. Consequently, sales of products for food and beverage, floor care and printer applications decreased. This was largely offset by increased sales for lawn and garden, medical and data centre cooling applications.

In EMEA, sales increased by 6%, driven by a combination of inventory replenishment by certain customers following their consumption of previous inventory surpluses, as well as the launch of new products. This resulted in increased sales of products for lawn and garden, and heating applications and flexible printed circuits. This was partially offset by a decrease in sales of products for beverage applications.

In the Americas, sales decreased by 2% mainly due to the combined effects of reduced demand from certain customers and some programs reaching end of life. This resulted in decreased sales of products for ventilation and surgical applications. This was partially offset by stronger sales of piezo motors and piezo motion subsystems, which benefited from strong demand for high-precision equipment for semiconductor manufacturing and medical drug-dosing systems.

A shift towards paperless aviation credentials gathered pace as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation rolled out an Electronic Personnel Licence for commercial pilots, marking a structural change in how flight crew qualifications are issued, verified and carried. The initiative covers Airline Transport Pilot Licence holders and is designed to replace physical documents with a secure digital alternative accessible through the eGCA mobile application.

Officials said the Electronic Personnel Licence, or EPL, allows pilots to store and display their credentials on smartphones and tablets, reducing reliance on printed licences that can be lost, damaged or delayed during renewals. The digital licence is issued directly by the aviation regulator after validation of training records, medical certification and flight experience already housed within the eGCA system, which has been the central portal for licensing and examinations for several years.

The move aligns civil aviation oversight with global trends in digital identity management, particularly as airlines and regulators seek faster verification processes. Under the new system, the EPL carries a dynamically generated QR code that can be scanned by airlines, airport authorities and foreign regulators to confirm authenticity in real time. DGCA officials indicated that the licence is tamper-resistant and protected by multi-layer authentication linked to the pilot’s registered credentials.

Paper licences give way to secure digital credentials is how the regulator internally describes the transition, emphasising both operational efficiency and security gains. According to people familiar with the rollout, the digital format also shortens turnaround time for licence issuance and endorsements, which previously depended on manual checks and physical dispatch.

Pilots holding an Airline Transport Pilot Licence are the first group covered, reflecting the operational importance of captains and senior first officers in commercial aviation. DGCA plans to extend the framework to other categories, including Commercial Pilot Licence holders, aircraft maintenance engineers and cabin crew, once the system stabilises and feedback from initial users is assessed.

Airline operators have welcomed the development, noting that licence verification is a routine but critical compliance task. Flight operations departments often need to validate licences at short notice for roster changes, wet leases or overseas operations. A digital licence accessible through an official app reduces administrative friction and supports faster decision-making, particularly for international deployments where foreign authorities seek immediate confirmation of credentials.

The launch comes amid sustained growth in domestic and international air traffic, with fleet expansion and accelerated pilot hiring placing additional pressure on regulatory processes. Training organisations and airlines have repeatedly flagged delays in licence endorsements as a bottleneck, especially during aircraft type transitions. By integrating the EPL with existing digital records, the regulator aims to address those concerns without compromising oversight.

Security has been positioned as a central feature rather than an add-on. The EPL is designed to function both online and offline, allowing pilots to present credentials even in low-connectivity environments, while ensuring that any verification attempt flags expired or suspended privileges. DGCA officials said this feature was essential for remote airfields and international operations where network access may be inconsistent.

The initiative also responds to a broader push by governments and regulators to adopt digital public infrastructure. Within civil aviation, several jurisdictions have begun experimenting with electronic licences and medical certificates, though adoption has been uneven. Industry experts note that interoperability and trust between regulators remain key challenges, as foreign authorities must be confident in the issuing system’s integrity.

From a compliance perspective, the electronic licence does not alter the underlying regulatory requirements. Pilots must continue to meet medical, proficiency and recency standards, and enforcement actions remain unchanged. The EPL is a format change rather than a relaxation of rules, a point DGCA officials have stressed to avoid misinterpretation within the industry.

Training academies and pilot associations have sought clarity on transitional arrangements, particularly for pilots flying internationally. DGCA has indicated that the physical licence will remain valid during a defined transition period, allowing operators and foreign regulators time to familiarise themselves with the digital format. Guidance notes circulated to airlines outline verification procedures and recommend carrying both digital and physical copies during the initial phase.

Hainan Heren Pearl Co., Ltd., which mainly imports pearls from overseas, has emerged as a direct beneficiary of Hainan FTP policies.

Under the value-added processing policy, the company can sell its high-value products to the mainland duty-free, cutting its overall tax burden from about 52 percent to roughly 26 percent and redirecting the savings into research and development, said Zhang Shizhong, the company’s chairman.

“The FTP holds great promise, with more policy dividends set to be released in the future,” Zhang said.

One notable special customs policy is offering “freer access at the first line,” referring to freer trade between Hainan and areas outside China’s customs borders, and “regulated access at the second line,” which involves applying standard customs controls for goods moving from Hainan to the mainland.

According to Haikou Customs, from Dec. 18, 2025 to the early hours of Jan. 18, 2026, the value of “first line” imported zero-tariff goods was 753 million yuan (about 107 million U.S. dollars); the value of processed and value-added goods sold domestically through the “second line” was about 85.9 million yuan.

In Wanning City, production lines at Chia Tai (Hainan) Xinglong Coffee Industry Development Co., Ltd. are running at full capacity. The company imports green coffee beans from Colombia and processes them in Hainan before shipping the finished products to the mainland, enjoying an 8 percent tariff reduction under the FTP policies.

“After the launch of island-wide special customs operations, Hainan will gradually become a value-added processing center and trade hub with global resource allocation capabilities,” said Ye Jian, the company’s general manager. “Enterprises will not only pass through Hainan, but also be able to put down roots here and create higher value.”

Duty-free shopping booms in Hainan FTP.

Drawn by the policy incentives, a growing number of companies are choosing to do business in Hainan. The General Administration of Customs said a total of 5,132 new foreign trade enterprises completed registration in Hainan over the past month, an increase in a month roughly equivalent to the total registrations in an entire quarter of 2024.

The total number of registered foreign trade market entities in Hainan has surpassed 100,000, according to official data.

As the policy came into force, major ports across Hainan saw a surge in activity.

Days after Hainan began island-wide special customs operations, a flight from Prague carrying 115 European passengers touched down in the tourist city of Sanya, marking a breakthrough in the high-level opening up of the aviation sector at the Hainan FTP.

The arrival marked the launch of China’s first official passenger route operated under the Seventh Freedom of the Air, which allows foreign carriers to operate flights between two foreign countries without having to land in their home country.

The route is operated by Kazakhstan’s Scat Airlines, with one round-trip scheduled each week.

At Yangpu Port, the largest cargo port in the Hainan FTP, mega-ships berthing in quick succession, gantry cranes operating around the clock, and container trucks moving in tightly coordinated flows have become a routine sight.

“Yangpu will shoulder the role of the main logistics gateway of the Hainan FTP,” said Yang Xiaobin, deputy head of the Transportation, Port and Waterway Bureau of Yangpu Economic Development Zone. “The port aims to build a smart and green international shipping hub and logistics center.”

Container throughput at Yangpu reached 3.31 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2025, up more than 65 percent from a year earlier.

“It is particularly noteworthy that the Hainan FTP launched island-wide special customs operations at a time of intensifying deglobalization and rising global uncertainty,” said Cui Weijie, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, a think tank with the Ministry of Commerce.

“It not only demonstrates China’s unwavering commitment to high-standard opening up, but also injects greater certainty and positive momentum into the global economy and international trade cooperation,” Cui said.

India has overtaken most markets to become the world’s second-largest 5G network by user base, crossing an estimated 400 million subscribers as operators expand coverage and devices become more affordable. The scale of adoption places the country behind only China, underscoring the pace at which fifth-generation services have spread across cities, towns and large rural corridors.

Official tallies compiled from industry disclosures and regulatory filings show nationwide 5G availability across all states and union territories, with more than 450,000 base stations activated since commercial launch in October 2022. Data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India indicates that fifth-generation users now account for a substantial share of total mobile broadband connections, a shift that has occurred faster than earlier transitions from 2G to 3G and 4G.

India’s 5G surge reshapes global rankings as operators leveraged aggressive rollouts and introductory pricing to seed usage. The government’s early spectrum auctions, coupled with simplified right-of-way rules for fibre and towers, reduced deployment friction. Policymakers also pushed indigenous manufacturing through production-linked incentives, lowering equipment costs and shortening supply chains.

Market leaders have driven much of the momentum. Reliance Jio built a standalone 5G network using mid-band spectrum and dense fibre backhaul, prioritising urban clusters and industrial zones before pushing into smaller towns. Bharti Airtel opted for a non-standalone architecture initially, upgrading existing 4G sites to accelerate time-to-market while expanding capacity. Vodafone Idea has begun selective launches following capital infusions, focusing on circles with higher data demand.

Subscriber growth has been supported by falling handset prices and a rapid refresh cycle. Entry-level 5G smartphones from domestic and global brands now sit near mass-market price points, while older devices have been phased out as networks refarm spectrum. Analysts note that average data consumption per user has climbed as video streaming, cloud gaming and real-time navigation benefit from lower latency and higher throughput.

Enterprise use cases are also gaining ground. Private 5G deployments are being tested in ports, manufacturing plants and campuses to support automation, predictive maintenance and machine vision. The Department of Telecommunications has approved pilot licences for captive networks, enabling firms to experiment without relying solely on public networks. Healthcare applications such as remote diagnostics and education tools like immersive classrooms are being trialled in partnership with state governments.

The speed of expansion reflects a competitive pricing environment. Unlimited 5G plans bundled with 4G subscriptions reduced barriers to trial, while promotional offers encouraged device upgrades. Industry executives argue that scale efficiencies and declining network costs will support sustainable pricing even as data traffic rises.

Challenges persist. Monetisation remains uneven as consumers expect higher speeds at similar prices, pressuring average revenue per user. Network densification in dense urban areas requires continued capital expenditure, and power availability in remote regions complicates operations. Cybersecurity and data privacy frameworks must keep pace with new applications that rely on ultra-reliable connectivity.

Spectrum policy will shape the next phase. Operators are seeking clarity on millimetre-wave allocations to unlock ultra-high-capacity hotspots for campuses and stadiums. Backhaul capacity, particularly fibreisation of towers, is another bottleneck that policymakers are addressing through coordinated infrastructure planning.

Globally, India’s ascent alters competitive dynamics. Vendors see the market as a proving ground for large-scale deployments, while application developers view it as a launchpad for services that require millions of concurrent users. The country’s experience is being studied by emerging economies looking to leapfrog directly to advanced mobile broadband.

China’s market watchdog has ordered the removal of co-located trading servers from exchange data centres, a step that strikes at the core of high-frequency trading strategies by stripping away microsecond advantages and reshaping how orders reach the market.

The directive, conveyed to brokerages and proprietary trading firms over the past week, requires firms to relocate servers that sit inside or adjacent to exchange facilities, a practice that has allowed algorithmic traders to exploit ultra-low latency connections. By mandating physical separation, regulators aim to level access speeds across participants and curb behaviour blamed for sharp intraday swings.

Officials at the China Securities Regulatory Commission have framed the move as part of a broader effort to restore fairness and stability at a time when volatility has tested investor confidence. Exchanges have begun coordinating timelines with members, while technology vendors assess the operational impact of migrating equipment and reconfiguring networks.

At the heart of the change is co-location, a service long offered by major venues such as the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. By placing servers in the same buildings as matching engines, firms could shave milliseconds off order transmission, a decisive edge for strategies that depend on speed. The new rule eliminates that edge by forcing all traders to connect from outside facilities, effectively compressing the speed differential.

Market participants say the immediate effect will be uneven. Firms that rely heavily on latency-sensitive strategies face higher costs and potential revenue declines, while asset managers and retail-focused brokers expect fewer instances of sudden price dislocations triggered by rapid-fire trades. Some proprietary desks have already paused certain algorithms as engineers test alternative connectivity routes.

Regulators’ concerns extend beyond fairness. Officials have grown wary of feedback loops in which automated strategies amplify short-term moves, especially during thin liquidity. Episodes of abrupt swings in small- and mid-cap shares have sharpened scrutiny of trading practices that can overwhelm order books in fractions of a second. By slowing the fastest participants, authorities believe markets will better reflect underlying supply and demand.

The measure also aligns with a wider tightening of oversight on quantitative trading. Over the past year, exchanges have refined monitoring of order-to-trade ratios, imposed stricter reporting on algorithmic strategies, and increased penalties for disruptive behaviour. Server removal adds a structural constraint that complements those rules, shifting the emphasis from after-the-fact enforcement to preventative design.

Technology providers are bracing for a wave of changes. Data centre operators linked to exchanges will see reduced demand for premium co-location services, while telecom firms may benefit as traders invest in faster external links to mitigate latency losses. Network optimisation, time-synchronisation tools and smarter order-routing software are expected to attract investment as firms adapt.

There are risks of short-term disruption. Moving servers involves downtime, testing and regulatory approvals, raising the possibility of temporary liquidity dips in certain instruments. Exchanges have signalled flexibility on implementation schedules to avoid disorderly conditions, though the direction of policy is clear. Compliance teams are urging firms to prioritise stability over speed during the transition.

Internationally, the decision is being watched closely. Other jurisdictions have grappled with the balance between innovation and fairness, with mixed approaches ranging from speed bumps to transaction taxes. China’s choice to remove co-location altogether is among the most decisive interventions to date and could influence debates elsewhere, particularly in markets where retail participation is high.

Beyond Balance: The Next Regime

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 13 January 2026 – Today, KGI has released its 2026 Global Market Outlook, covering markets in the US, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

After a turbulent year of trade disruptions and policy uncertainty under President Trump, investors face new questions. China has unveiled its 15th Five-Year Plan, as policymakers aim to support domestic growth amid global challenges. The market outlook for 2026 is shaped by interest rate decisions, economic resilience, and shifting international dynamics.

Under this backdrop, we propose the “LEAD” strategy for 2026:

  1. Liquidity Shift
  2. Earnings Focused
  3. Adding Credit
  4. Diversified Assets

Cusson Leung, Chief Investment Officer at KGI, says: “Looking ahead to 2026, investors can adopt a LEAD strategy: L stands for Liquidity Shift, benefiting from a weakening US dollar and interest rate cuts, with funds expected to flow to non-US dollar and Asian currencies; E stands for Earnings Focused, focusing on earnings growth to support valuations and allocating to US, European, and Japanese stocks; A stands for Adding Credit, locking in the credit of leading companies and increasing holdings of A-rated investment grade bonds; and D stands for Diversified Assets, responding to the upward trend in both stocks and bonds by including alternative assets to optimize asset allocation.”

Macro & US Markets
The US economy will experience a more pronounced downturn in 4Q25, which will extend into 1H26, and this will have a negative impact on consumption, slowing investment activity. Nevertheless, AI-driven productivity gains should provide some support, with US GDP growth in 2026 forecast at 2.2%. The eurozone will see moderate growth, with Germany benefiting significantly from fiscal expansion and economic improvement. Japan’s economy will strengthen on domestic demand, aided by additional fiscal stimulus. China has demonstrated resilience under trade protectionism in 2025. With inflation risks easing and labor market risks rising, the US Fed cut the interest rates in September 2025, with a total reduction of 75 bps in 2025, followed by an additional 50-75 bps in 2026.

Regarding US stocks, AI-driven productivity gains and cost reductions should sustain solid profitability, with S&P 500 earnings projected to grow by 13.55% year-on-year (YoY) in 2026. However, higher risk premiums may cap valuation upside, leading us to project a year-end target of 7,650 points. Market performance will reflect risk-driven declines in 1Q26, stabilize and recover in 2Q26, and rally significantly around the midterm elections in 4Q26. By sector, among AI-related themes we favor technology, semiconductors, utilities (on higher power demand), machinery for advanced manufacturing, and industrial REITs. Non-AI beneficiaries include aerospace and defense (on higher military spending), pharmaceuticals (on tariff benefits), and capital market segments (supported by active investment banking). As for fixed income, US economic weakness and Fed rate cuts will drive Treasury yields lower, with 10-year yields expected to fall to 3.5-3.7% by 2Q26. We recommend allocating to US Treasuries or high-rated investment-grade corporate bonds in 1H26, then rotating into high-yield bonds in 2H26 as policy rates and economic conditions reach a bottom.

James Chu, Chairman at KGI Securities Investment Advisory, says: “AI is triggering a new productivity revolution, supporting economic growth and strengthening corporate earnings. While the US economy is expected to slow, a recession remains unlikely, and the short-term impact of tariff policies should gradually fade by the first quarter of 2026. Although the Fed may shift from cutting rates at every meeting to cutting at alternating meetings, the overall environment remains a rate-cutting cycle. In a non-recession backdrop, lower interest rates should continue to support equity market performance.”

Mainland China and Hong Kong Markets
In terms of the macroeconomy, with the conclusion of trade agreements among many countries, risks have subsided. However, due to external drag, China’s GDP growth is expected to slow slightly to 4.6% in 2026. In 2026, investors should focus on four key areas for Hong Kong and mainland China markets: (1) In the consumption sector, domestic demand continued to be the core growth driver, contributing more than half of GDP. As the “trade-in” effect diminishes, the central government is expected to implement the “15th Five-Year Plan” and economic conference plans, launching a new round of subsidies covering culture, entertainment, and sports to continuously boost consumer spending. (2) In the financial market, risk appetite has increased. Given the narrowing spread between bond yields and fixed deposit rates, large amounts of savings are flowing into the capital market seeking returns. The fundamentals of the banking and insurance industries have bottomed out, and the credit structure is accelerating its shift from real estate to supporting the real economy. (3) Regarding the issue of “anti-involution,” the PPI remains weak, and capacity reduction has become a focus. Compared to 2015, this round involves more downstream private enterprises and needs to consider employment, presenting greater challenges. While industry consolidation is expected to be lengthy, the impact is controllable and beneficial for long-term healthy development. (4) Regarding new quality productive forces, this will replace real estate and infrastructure as the main investment focus. Digital infrastructure supports AI and embodied intelligence, and humanoid robots are expected to see commercialization in 2026, “iPhone moment.” Leading companies with core technological autonomy in innovative drugs will enjoy higher valuation premiums.

Overall, we are optimistic on Hang Seng Index. We expect the Federal Reserve’s interest rate cuts to drive fund inflows to the Hong Kong and mainland stock markets. Based on an upward revision of the forward PE ratio to 13.5x and 8% earnings growth, we set a target of 30,000 points for the Hang Seng Index by the end of 2026, representing a potential upside of approximately 14%. As confidence recovers, the investment style is expected to shift from defensive to growth stocks. Recommended 12 stocks: XPeng Motors (9868), UBTECH (9880), Tencent Holdings (700), Alibaba (9988), China Hongqiao (1378), AIA Group (1299), Ping An Insurance (2318), China Merchants Bank (3968), Akeso Biopharma (9926), Pop Mart (9992), Tencent Music (1698), and Sino Land (83).

Cusson Leung, Chief Investment Officer at KGI, says: “2026 marks a crucial turning point for the Chinese economy. While the market anticipates GDP growth to slow to 4.6%, “new quality productive forces,” resembling humanoid robots, is taking over as a new growth engine. The most critical signal in the market is the “awakening” of idle cash—massive savings are flowing from low-interest fixed deposits to the capital market seeking returns. With risk appetite returning and policy support intensifying, now is the time to shift investment strategies from “defensive” to “growth.” Driven by both valuation repair and earnings growth, we are optimistic that the Hang Seng Index will reach 30,000 points, and the allocation value of Hong Kong and mainland China stocks has reappeared.”

Taiwan Market
Compared to the dot-com era bull run, which lasted almost five years, the current AI frenzy has been around for about three years, suggesting that the uptrend is still in its middle phase and could extend through 2026.

AI plays are trading at high PEs, such valuations are backed by strong fundamentals. In fact, the PEG ratio of Taiwan’s AI supply chain has yet to surpass 1x. We estimate that aggregate earnings of AI plays will grow by 21% YoY in 2026, following impressive upticks of 35% in 2024 and 43% in 2025. AI stocks now account for more than 60% of TAIEX earnings, and with the ongoing AI arms race, overall TAIEX earnings growth is projected to accelerate from 14% in 2025F to 20% in 2026.

Although the AI frenzy should keep the bull market intact, volatility will rise in tandem due to: (1) substantial cumulative gains, and the fact that valuations are approaching historic highs; (2) policy and political uncertainty surrounding the US midterm elections; and (3) potential changes in the US Fed’s rate-cut pace. We expect the TAIEX to repeat a “smile-curve” pattern, featuring continued strength in 1Q26, followed by healthy corrections in 2Q-3Q26 before closing the year with a renewed upswing.

We think investors need to pay attention to two major themes. The first is a broad-based product spec upgrade trend across the AI supply chain, which will drive the industry into a new growth phase, with beneficiaries including foundries, GPU and ASIC designers, advanced packaging (such as CoWoS), and ODMs, as well as testing interfaces, memory, thermal solutions, CCL, ABF substrates, PCBs, switches, and power component suppliers amid strong AI computing demand and ongoing GPU platform upgrades. The second is diversification and defensive asset allocation. Innovations in consumer electronics, such as foldable iPhones and smart wearables, will provide growth opportunities, while companies with resilient domestic demand and stable high dividend yields offer a balanced strategy combining growth and income. Overall, investors should strike a balance between growth and resilience against volatility in their portfolios, in the face of market fluctuations.

James Chu, Chairman at KGI Securities Investment Advisory, says: “The solid earnings growth driven by AI and still reasonable valuations form a strong foundation for the ongoing bull market in Taiwanese equities. With AI adoption accelerating across enterprises and consumers, demand for computing power is rising rapidly. Yet supply remains constrained by chip and power bottlenecks, meaning hardware suppliers are likely to face continued shortages through 2026. Taiwan’s AI supply chain is set to remain a key beneficiary, particularly those tied to next-generation specification upgrades.”

Singapore Market
In 9M25, the overall performance of Singapore’s economy was better than expected as the global trade tensions eased after the US pivoted on its reciprocal tariffs and reached deals with its major trading partners. The manufacturing, wholesale trade and finance & insurance sectors remained the growth pillars of the Singapore economy, and each sector delivered decent growth. In particular, manufacturing’s growth has been robust, driven by the electronics, transport engineering and biomedical manufacturing clusters. The full year outlook is upbeat, as the growth momentum shall continue till the end of the year.

Looking ahead, the global economic outlook for 2026 suggests slower GDP growth for most of Singapore’s key trading partners, including China and the Eurozone, largely due to the impact of US tariffs, which will temper demand for Southeast Asian exports, though US growth is expected to remain resilient from AI investment. Consequently, Singapore’s outward-oriented sectors, particularly manufacturing and trade-related services, are projected to expand at a slower pace than in 2025, although the electronics and related sectors will benefit from AI demand, while some precision engineering and biomedical output may moderate domestically, the construction sector is set to grow, but consumer-facing sectors are likely to remain subdued. However, the relatively low interest rates and continuous government support shall buffer the impact of the slowdown, and the capital market will still benefit from the upward re-rating catalysts.

Chen Guangzhi, Head of Research at KGI Singapore, says: “Thanks to trade de-escalation and the AI wave, Singapore experienced significant economic expansion in 2025. Proactive government initiatives turbo-charged the equity bull run, and this strong momentum is expected to deliver an optimistic economic outlook for 2026.”
