Infosys will acquire a 75 percent stake in Versent Group, the cloud‑focused digital transformation specialist wholly owned by Telstra, for A$233.3 million, in a joint venture aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence‑enabled cloud and digital services across Australia. The deal, positioning Infosys as majority operator with Telstra retaining a 25 percent interest, is expected to complete in the second half of fiscal year 2026, contingent on approval from Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board and Competition and Consumer Commission.

Versent brings to the table its team of 650 engineers, advisors and strategists and deep expertise in serving large‑scale sectors such as finance, utilities, energy, education and government. Infosys plans to infuse this local engineering capability with its global strengths—particularly its AI suite including Infosys Topaz, cloud platform Infosys Cobalt, and cybersecurity services from The Missing Link—to deliver comprehensive digital transformation solutions across Australian enterprise and government clients.

The transaction sparked a positive market reaction. Infosys’s US‑listed shares climbed 1.6 percent to US$16.33, while shares traded in India leapt 2 percent to ₹1,449.90.

This JV marks a significant stride in Infosys’ global AI‑cloud strategy and broadens its footprint in Australia. For Telstra, the move aligns with its broader transformation ambitions, where leadership under CEO Vicki Brady is steering the business toward becoming more software‑centric and AI‑first. As part of this shift, Telstra has embraced extensive AI deployment—covering operations such as fault detection, customer support enhancement and efficiency gains—and introduced 21,000 Microsoft Copilot licences along with a dedicated data and AI academy for staff upskilling.

While Telstra has enacted workforce reductions—550 roles eliminated in its enterprise division—company executives emphasise these changes result from structural realignment, not AI, and promise support for affected employees.

BingX AI has surpassed the milestone of two million active users and handled more than twenty million queries since launching in May, marking a significant leap for its AI-driven trading platform. The achievement underscores the rapid uptake of AI tools in digital asset trading and signals BingX’s growing influence in the Web3 sector.

BingX AI offers a suite of AI-powered avatars—The Analyst, Strategist, Recommender, Protector and Monitor—that support users at distinct phases of their trading journey. From decoding market charts and suggesting tokens to forecasting trends and simulating risk outcomes, the platform delivers a streamlined, real‑time trading experience. This multi‑modal intelligence relies on a combination of advanced AI engines and extensive trading data sets, designed to support traders across experience levels.

Vivien Lin, Chief Product Officer at BingX, emphasised that the platform is aimed at augmenting rather than replacing human decision‑making: “AI is redefining what’s possible in digital asset trading… offering users context, clarity and confidence in one unified platform.” Lin added that hitting two million users is just a step forward and flagged upcoming AI enhancements that promise to elevate the tool’s capabilities further.

This milestone aligns with BingX’s broader AI Evolution Strategy, a US$300 million initiative to embed AI across its trading ecosystem. The strategy aims to consolidate previously fragmented tools into a seamless, intelligent environment that empowers traders—from novices to professionals—to make better-informed decisions and trade with greater assurance.

Founded in 2018, BingX has grown into a significant player in the crypto and Web3 space, supporting over 20 million users globally across services such as derivatives, spot trading, copy trading and AI tools. Notably, the firm became the official crypto exchange partner of Chelsea Football Club in 2024, expanding its presence beyond fintech into sports sponsorship.

The rising appetite for AI-assisted trading reflects a broader trend of digital transformation within the crypto ecosystem, where users increasingly seek sophisticated yet accessible tools to navigate volatile markets. BingX’s success with AI avatars may well become a template for how AI interfaces can enrich the trading experience without sidelining user autonomy.

Bengaluru, known as India’s Silicon Valley, is home to a vast number of technology firms, startups, and innovation centres. As one of the leading tech cities globally, it offers an abundance of skilled professionals and a vibrant startup ecosystem. Snowflake’s decision to expand in Bengaluru underscores its confidence in the Indian market and the country’s crucial role in its global growth strategy.

Snowflake’s expansion is a part of a broader trend where global tech giants are increasingly looking towards India as a critical location for their growth and innovation. The Bengaluru office will further enhance Snowflake’s ability to tap into this wealth of expertise and cater to the growing demand for advanced data solutions in the region.

The company’s expansion is also expected to create significant job opportunities, not just in data engineering and analytics but across various domains, from sales and marketing to customer support. In addition to providing innovative solutions for businesses, Snowflake’s new office will serve as a training ground for local talent. Dubai’s educational landscape is set for a major expansion, with 25 new institutions due to open for the 2025-26 academic year. This development will significantly enhance the city’s educational offerings, with a focus on early childhood education, primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education. The initiative underscores the city’s commitment to improving its education system while catering to its growing population and diverse expat community.

The plan includes 16 early childhood centres, six new schools, and three international universities. With these additions, the Emirate is strengthening its position as a global education hub. The new schools will offer a variety of curricula, catering to different international standards, while the universities are expected to provide high-quality degree programmes in multiple disciplines. The expansion aligns with Dubai’s strategic vision to position itself as a regional leader in education, attracting international students and families.

The increasing demand for high-quality education in Dubai is driven by a combination of factors. The city’s burgeoning population, especially among expatriates, has created a need for more educational institutions. According to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai’s private schools have seen consistent growth over the past decade, with enrolment numbers steadily rising year after year. This demand for diverse and accessible education options has made the expansion of private institutions a top priority for the local government.

Dubai’s early childhood education market has been one of the fastest-growing sectors. The planned 16 new early childhood centres aim to address the gap in early education services, particularly in areas with high residential developments. These centres will cater to children from infancy to six years old, offering quality educational programmes designed to nurture cognitive, emotional, and social development. As more families choose Dubai as their home, there is an increasing need for flexible, high-standard childcare options.

The introduction of new international universities is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to attract higher education institutions from around the world. The city’s academic infrastructure has been steadily growing over the last two decades, with several global universities establishing campuses in Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai Silicon Oasis. This expansion will further cement Dubai’s status as a destination for world-class higher education, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fields such as technology, business, engineering, and healthcare.

The opening of these institutions also presents significant opportunities for local and international educators. With a large number of expat families residing in the city, the demand for skilled teachers across all levels of education remains high. This expansion will create numerous job opportunities for both local and international educators, particularly in the fields of STEM, which are seeing rising demand.

The 25 new institutions are expected to support Dubai’s broader economic development by equipping the workforce with critical skills needed for the city’s knowledge-driven economy. As Dubai continues to diversify its economy, education plays a crucial role in ensuring that its population is equipped with the expertise required for future industries, such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and fintech.

The city’s growth in education is not limited to the expansion of physical infrastructure. The KHDA is also investing in digital learning platforms, enhancing access to education through technology. The shift towards online learning, accelerated by the global pandemic, has influenced Dubai’s educational sector, with many institutions adopting hybrid models of teaching that combine traditional classroom learning with digital tools. These changes aim to make education more accessible and flexible for students of all ages.

Dubai’s vision for 2030 includes further investment in education, ensuring that it continues to attract families and professionals from around the world. As the city’s private education sector evolves, it is set to become an even more attractive option for expatriates seeking world-class education for their children, while also providing opportunities for students to pursue higher education without leaving the region.

The Kerala Aviation Summit has commenced in Kochi, bringing together industry leaders, policy makers, and investors to discuss the future of the aviation sector in the region. The event, inaugurated by Kerala’s Chief Minister, marks a significant step in the state’s efforts to position itself as a key player in India’s aviation industry.

Held at the state-of-the-art convention centre, the summit aims to attract both domestic and international investments while fostering innovation and sustainable growth in aviation. This year’s theme focuses on investment opportunities, the impact of new technologies on air travel, and the evolving aviation policy landscape. The event is expected to serve as a platform for discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by the aviation sector, particularly in the context of global economic shifts and environmental concerns.

State authorities are keen to highlight Kerala’s strategic advantages for aviation growth. With its extensive coastline and proximity to international shipping routes, the state has long been an important transit point for both passengers and cargo. In recent years, Kerala’s airports have seen significant upgrades, positioning them to handle increased passenger traffic. The summit’s discussions will likely explore ways to further leverage these infrastructure improvements, including the role of private-public partnerships in expanding airport capacity and enhancing services.

Aviation experts gathered at the summit emphasised the need for a more robust policy framework that supports both air travel expansion and environmental sustainability. Experts have pointed out that despite the growth in air traffic, India’s aviation sector continues to face challenges, including fuel price volatility, regulatory hurdles, and a shortage of skilled workforce. The summit will feature panel discussions on these issues, with a particular focus on how Kerala can address these challenges to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving aviation landscape.

The event is also expected to showcase emerging technologies that are shaping the future of air travel. Innovations in electric and hybrid aircraft, along with developments in drone technology, will be a key talking point. Aviation companies and technology firms are increasingly exploring these new technologies as part of efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of the aviation industry. Kerala’s government is keen on integrating these advancements into its aviation strategy, aiming to create a sustainable aviation ecosystem that can meet the demands of a growing population while minimising environmental impact.

The summit is anticipated to have far-reaching effects on Kerala’s economy, with key players from the aviation industry looking to expand their presence in the state. This could include the establishment of new flight routes, further investment in airport infrastructure, and the growth of aviation-related businesses. Additionally, experts believe that the state’s focus on tourism and infrastructure will serve as a catalyst for more investment in regional airports, providing a vital boost to local economies.

The Kerala Aviation Summit also provides a platform for the state government to promote its aviation policies. In recent years, Kerala has introduced several initiatives aimed at reducing the cost of air travel, such as subsidies for airlines operating in regional airports. The state’s aviation policy is expected to evolve in response to emerging trends and changing market conditions, including growing demand for air travel in smaller cities and towns.

While much of the discussion will centre around investment, infrastructure, and policy, the summit will also highlight the need for enhanced training and education in the aviation sector. As the industry grows, there is a growing demand for a skilled workforce, from pilots and ground staff to engineers and air traffic controllers. The Kerala government is already working to meet this demand, with initiatives to develop training centres and promote aviation-related courses in local educational institutions.

The North American data centre market is grappling with an unprecedented surge in demand, causing vacancy rates to plummet to their lowest levels in history. As organisations push for more robust digital infrastructure to support the rapid growth in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data-intensive applications, the industry’s response is struggling to keep up with the escalating requirements. Recent reports highlight a significant tightening of the market. […]
