ORLANDO, UNITED STATES – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 April 2026 – As the global pet industry gathers for the Global Pet Expo in Orlando—the largest pet trade show in North America—a new power from Southeast Asia has taken center stage. MR.VET, the rising star of the Asian pet food market, has officially been honored with the 2026 Orange Dot Award (USA) in the Biotech Category, marking a historic milestone for regional brands on the world stage.

Southeast Asian Pet Food Leader MR.VET Clinches Prestigious U.S. Orange Dot Award for Biotech Innovation

The Orange Dot Award is a benchmark of excellence in the pet industry, established by a panel of elite American experts, including the former president of the American Pet Products Association (APPA). It recognizes products that push the boundaries of safety, innovation, and nutritional science. This year, the spotlight shines on MR.VET’s commitment to “Precision Healthcare.”

A Biotech Breakthrough: The T-Series Revolution

The award-winning entry, MR.VET’s T-Series, represents a paradigm shift in how pet owners approach feline health. Unlike conventional dry kibble, the T-Series—comprising T1 (Intestinal Care), T2 (Skin and Coat Care), T3 (Urinary Health), and T4 (Indoor Cat)—is built on a foundation of advanced biotechnology.

At the heart of this innovation is MR.VET’s Specialized Freeze-Drying Technology. While traditional high-heat processing often destroys delicate bioactive compounds, MR.VET utilizes low-temperature dehydration. This “Bioactive Retention” process locks in original nutrition, ensuring that proteins, fatty acids, and essential micronutrients remain intact for efficient absorption. By combining this technology with customized nutritional profiles, MR.VET offers a tailored solution to the most common health “pain points” faced by modern pet owners.

Southeast Asian Pet Food Leader MR.VET Clinches Prestigious U.S. Orange Dot Award for Biotech Innovation.

Certified Market Dominance: The Number One Choice

MR.VET’s scientific accolades are backed by staggering commercial success. According to a recent market position statement by the world-renowned consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, MR.VET has been officially certified as the “Ranked No. 1 in Southeast Asia by Sales Volume of Dry Cat Food in 2025.”

Frost & Sullivan, a global leader in market research for over 60 years, conducted an exhaustive analysis of the Southeast Asian landscape, confirming MR.VET’s status as the undisputed market leader. Over the past year, the brand has witnessed an explosive growth trajectory across both digital and physical storefronts:

  1. Indonesia: Ranked #1 on both TikTok and Shopee.
  2. Vietnam: Ranked #1 on TikTok and #3 on Shopee.
  3. Thailand: Recognized as a Top 10 TikTok Trending Brand.
  4. Regional Reach: Rapidly becoming the preferred choice for consumers in Malaysia and the Philippines.

Double Victory: Bite of Wild Sweeps Nutrition Category

The Orange Dot Award ceremony also celebrated a second victory for the group, as sister brand Bite of Wild secured the award in the Nutrition Category for its 42 Series.

The inspiration for Bite of Wild began with a personal mission by co-founder Steve Bui. As a devoted pet owner, Steve sought to create a diet that truly honored the “obligate carnivore” nature of his own pets. Dissatisfied with conventional options, he set out to develop a high-meat, biologically appropriate formula, which eventually evolved into the award-winning 42 Series.

Designed to replicate the “Ancestral Blueprint” of wild felines, the Bite of Wild 42 Series (including the P42 High Meats, F42 6-Fish recipes, and K42 Kitten Formula) is engineered for the “Tiger Physique.” The series boasts industry-leading specifications:

  1. 92% Animal Raw Materials: Providing pure biological fuel.
  2. 42% High Crude Protein: The gold standard for lean muscle and vitality.
  3. 0% Grain & Pork: Eliminating common allergens to ensure peak digestive health.

Bite of Wild caters to the “obligate carnivore” nature of cats, proving that high-performance nutrition can be both scientifically precise and naturally sourced.

A New Era for the Pan-Asian Pet Market

The success of MR.VET and Bite of Wild at the Global Pet Expo signals a broader revolution within the Asian pet market—a transition from “basic feeding” to “scientific nurturing.”

“Winning two Orange Dot Awards in Biotech and Nutrition is a powerful validation of our commitment to elevating pet health standards across the Asian market,” said Steve Bui, co-founder of the brands, during the Orlando ceremony. “It proves that by merging global scientific breakthroughs with deep regional insights, we can lead the world in both market scale and technological sophistication.”

As MR.VET continues to expand its footprint across the Pan-Asian region and beyond, its mission remains clear: to provide pets with “the right care made easy”—backed by science and proven by millions of satisfied owners. The revolution in pet health has arrived, led by the “Tiger Physique” of Bite of Wild and the biotech-driven precision of MR.VET.

Under the Jollibee Group, Tim Ho Wan has strengthened its operating model to support consistent execution and long-term growth across markets.

Ongoing investments in kitchen systems, chef training, menu development, and store operations have enhanced consistency across locations while preserving the craftsmanship rooted in its Hong Kong origins. The continued recognition in Hong Kong reinforces the market’s role as the brand’s culinary and operational benchmark.

“These capabilities allow us to stay true to what makes Tim Ho Wan special, while ensuring we can deliver that same experience consistently as we grow,” said Sheng Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Tim Ho Wan.

The latest Bib Gourmand recognition reinforces Tim Ho Wan’s position as a globally relevant dim sum brand—rooted in Hong Kong and supported by the Jollibee Group’s platform for sustained and disciplined growth.

Disciplined Growth Backed by the Jollibee Group

The continued recognition also reflects the Jollibee Group’s approach to scaling heritage brands through operational excellence and long-term stewardship.

“Tim Ho Wan’s sustained recognition reflects the strength of its heritage and the discipline behind its execution,” said Richard Shin, CEO of JFC International and Global Chief Financial and Risk Officer of the Jollibee Group. “At the Jollibee Group, we focus on strengthening the systems and platforms that allow brands like Tim Ho Wan to grow while preserving the authenticity and craftsmanship that made them successful.”

System-wide sales (SWS) expanded significantly from Php1.3 billion in 2024 to Php8.1 billion in 2025, highlighting the brand’s accelerating scale and growing contribution to the Group’s global operations.

In its home market, Tim Ho Wan has strengthened its core Hong Kong footprint, doubling its store network to 10 locations within approximately one year. Recent store openings have delivered attractive payback periods (circa 1.5 years) and profitability, reinforcing confidence in the brand’s unit economics and disciplined growth approach.

Growth has been broad-based across both company-operated and franchise markets. Sales performance strengthened across markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and China, while franchise markets, including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan, continue to build momentum, further validating the brand’s strong international resonance and scalability.

The brand also reached an important milestone in its global expansion with the opening of its first company-operated North America store in Irvine, California, marking a significant step in establishing a direct presence in one of the world’s largest consumer markets. This re-entry into North America reflects the transportability of the brand’s operating model and positions Tim How Wan for a new phase of long-term growth and further global brand development.

Arabian Post Staff -Dubai Oil prices eased in Asian trading on Tuesday after giving up earlier gains, as traders weighed a report that U. S. President Donald Trump had told aides he was willing to end the war with Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remained largely closed for now, softening some of the market’s immediate fear of a broader supply shock. Brent crude for May […]

South Korea is weighing whether to extend car-use restrictions beyond the public sector as oil prices climb sharply, a step that would amount to the country’s first nationwide driving curbs since the 1991 Gulf War if it is applied broadly to the public. Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol said wider restrictions could come into play if crude prices rise into a $120-$130 a barrel range, up from about $100-$110 now, as Seoul tries to contain fuel demand and cushion the economic shock from turmoil in the Middle East.

The discussion marks an escalation from measures already in force. Public institutions are operating under a five-day vehicle rotation system, while large companies including Samsung Electronics and SK Group have begun urging staff to cut private car use, reduce parking demand and adopt other energy-saving practices. Officials have also left open the possibility of further fuel-tax relief to soften the burden on households and businesses, though no final decision has been announced on compulsory curbs for private motorists.

At the centre of Seoul’s concern is its exposure to imported energy. About 70% of South Korea’s oil imports come from the Middle East, leaving the country highly sensitive to any disruption in supplies or shipping routes. The government raised its crude oil supply disruption alert to Level 2 on March 18 as tensions mounted, signalling a more serious official assessment of the risks facing one of Asia’s largest energy importers.

The external shock has been severe. Reuters reported that Brent crude climbed to nearly $115 a barrel over the weekend and above $116 on Monday, putting it on course for its biggest monthly jump on record, while US crude also surged past $100. The rally has been driven by a widening conflict linked to Iran and growing anxiety over disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global oil flows. That backdrop has sharpened pressure on Asian economies that rely heavily on imported fuel, with South Korea among the most exposed.

For policymakers in Seoul, the issue is no longer only about fuel bills. Higher oil prices threaten to spill into inflation, transport costs, industrial input prices and consumer sentiment. A Reuters poll published on Monday projected that South Korea’s imports rose 18% in March, the fastest pace since September 2022, largely because of elevated oil prices, even as exports remained buoyant on strong semiconductor demand. That split picture captures the dilemma facing the government: trade performance is being helped by chips and artificial intelligence-linked demand, but the economy’s dependence on imported energy is pushing up costs and widening vulnerability.

President Lee Jae Myung has responded by urging a nationwide energy-saving drive, while Energy Minister Kim Sung-whan has pushed demand management and warned against panic behaviour. The government has promoted 12 power-saving practices, from shorter showers to shifting electricity use away from peak hours, and has also moved to restart several nuclear reactors, loosen coal plant restrictions and expand renewable energy to offset pressure on gas imports. The mix underlines how Seoul is trying to balance short-term crisis management with longer-term energy security, even as those goals can pull in different directions.

That tension is visible in the broader regional response. Across Asia, governments are looking again at emergency stock releases, fuel-saving directives and, in some cases, greater coal use to bridge supply gaps. Analysts say such measures may shield economies from the immediate shock, but they also expose how quickly climate and transition goals can be tested when energy security comes under strain. In South Korea’s case, the administration’s public emphasis on renewables sits alongside plans to lean harder on nuclear and coal generation if needed.

The market fallout has already been visible in financial assets. South Korean equities were hit as investors fled Asian markets on fears of a prolonged oil shock, though some analysts argue the sell-off has reflected panic rather than a collapse in fundamentals. Technology and industrial names remain central to the country’s earnings outlook, but energy-intensive sectors face a tougher operating environment if high crude prices persist or if physical shortages emerge.

Arabian Post Staff -Dubai Rosatom has agreed to form a logistics joint venture with DP World in a deal that would place Russia’s state nuclear corporation in majority control while bringing one of Dubai’s biggest global trade operators deeper into a strategically sensitive transport network centred on FESCO and Arctic shipping lanes. Under the proposed structure, Rosatom will hold 51% and DP World 49%, with Rosatom contributing […]

Co-organized by the People’s Daily and Lianhe Zaobao, the two-day event featured 12 young representatives who explored how their generation is shaping the future through innovation, cultural renewal and cross-border collaboration.

In the first panel, “Youth Driving Tech Innovation,” participants working in robotics, flying cars and data verification discussed both the opportunities and challenges of the AI era.

Tan Wei Hua, head of design at Singapore-based LionsBot International, addressed concerns over “AI anxiety” and its impact on jobs. “New jobs are going to be created. The next generation will be doing something entirely different,” he said, pointing to robotics as a growing field of opportunity.

Quah Zheng Wei, CEO and co-founder of Accredify, encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to take the first step. With the tech industry evolving rapidly, he stressed that “nothing is holding you back.”

From an industry perspective, Michael Du, CFO and vice president of ARIDGE, said emerging technologies are expanding possibilities in everyday life. Meanwhile, Xu Huazhe, assistant professor at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University, highlighted the strengths of younger generations: “With the correct taste, they will build the most meaningful things.”

The second panel, “Contemporary Renewal of Traditional Culture,” shifted focus from innovation to heritage. Artists and cultural practitioners in wood sculpture, paper art, jewelry design and journalism explored how tradition can be revitalized in modern contexts.

image-1.jpeg

Wood sculpture artist Deng Kun emphasized the importance of cultivating an eye for beauty, while Lianhe Zaobao arts and culture journalist Zhang Heyang described traditional culture as “a place of spiritual haven for today’s youth.”

Designer Longhong Ziwei, founder and art director of the accessory brand Soft Mountains, said engaging with Yi heritage has inspired her work and resonated with international audiences.

Singaporean paper and mixed media artist Koh Pei Li, drawing inspiration from everyday urban life, highlighted the value of noticing overlooked details. Through her work, she hopes to reconnect people with the subtle beauty around them.

In the final panel, “Jointly Building a Sustainable Future,” speakers from architecture, fashion, and marine conservation offered interdisciplinary perspectives on sustainability.

Chen Kan, principal architect of TAB Architecture and Design, spoke about the philosophy of “being-with” as a guiding principle. “We need a deeper capacity to coexist with others,” he said.

Goy Zhenru, principal architect of Goy Architects in Singapore, emphasized designing in harmony with nature. She highlighted the importance of connecting living spaces with natural elements such as breeze and sunlight to create comfort and environmental awareness.

Sam Shu Qin, co-founder of Our Singapore Reefs and Our Blue Spaces, who describes herself as “a gardener underwater,” expressed hope that younger generations will recognize their ability to give back to the ocean.

For fashion designer Chen Peng, founder of brand CHENPENG, sustainability is both cultural and practical. “It should be culture-based and do no harm to the earth. It’s not a choice, but a natural extension of philosophy,” he said.

The dialogue marked a step forward in media cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Singapore. By amplifying youth perspectives, it showcased the innovative energy and collaborative potential of both countries, while helping to build a long-term platform for bilateral engagement and shared progress.

Singapore-linked professional bodies and trade groups have opened a Professional Services Centre in Nanjing, pitching it as a gateway for Chinese companies seeking to expand into Southeast Asia and for Singapore firms looking to deepen their footprint in China. The launch took place on March 27 at a forum in Nanjing and marks the alliance’s second centre in China and third globally, according to the announcement distributed by the organisers.

The centre has been set up under an alliance led by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and supported by the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises, Institute of Valuers & Appraisers, Singapore Business Federation, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Singapore Manufacturing Federation, Tax Academy of Singapore and the Law Society of Singapore. Organisers said the Nanjing base is intended to provide companies with legal, tax, accounting, valuation, advisory and market-entry support as they navigate cross-border expansion. The move comes as commercial links between China and ASEAN continue to broaden and as businesses face a more complex regulatory and geopolitical environment when operating across jurisdictions.

Nanjing was presented as a deliberate choice rather than a symbolic one. The alliance said the city offers strong university linkages, talent pools and institutional support, while the Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-tech Island provides an established platform for bilateral cooperation. That project is jointly backed by authorities in Jiangsu and Nanjing as well as Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, giving the new centre an anchor in a corridor that already carries a Singapore brand in east China.

Officials used the launch to underline the commercial logic. Nanjing Vice Mayor Xu Feng said enterprises expanding overseas depend on professional services support and described Singapore as a global hub with complementary strengths. Ernie Koh, a council member at Singapore Business Federation and vice-chairman of the research and publications committee at Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said the platform could help enterprises build capabilities and unlock opportunities across Southeast Asia. Darren Ku, a council member at ASME, said smaller companies in particular need a more coordinated route into foreign markets, from compliance to market-entry strategy. Daniel Koh, vice-president of the Law Society of Singapore, framed the legal dimension as equally important, arguing that cross-border growth now demands stronger risk management and regulatory advice.

The alliance is presenting the centre as more than a ceremonial office. It says its centres in China and Vietnam have already supported more than 100 businesses, and cited BIPO, the human resources technology group, as one example of a company that used the ecosystem to establish operations and build local teams in Nanjing. Those claims could not be independently verified from public disclosures in full, but they fit the broader trend of service providers bundling market access, compliance and talent support for companies trying to expand across Asia without building every capability in-house.

That broader trend matters. Enterprise Singapore continues to position China as a major destination for outward expansion, pointing to its scale, consumer market and innovation ecosystem, while also offering grants and overseas market assistance to firms venturing abroad. At the same time, ASEAN’s own data show the region’s trade in goods rose to about $3.8 trillion in 2024, and ASEAN says two-way merchandise trade with China reached $772.4 billion that year, accounting for roughly a fifth of ASEAN’s total trade. Chinese media and official commentary have since pointed to China-ASEAN trade crossing the $1 trillion mark in 2025, underscoring why service platforms that specialise in cross-border operations are multiplying.

Commercial opportunity, however, does not remove the risks. China is trying to reassure foreign investors after weaker inbound investment figures, while international companies remain alert to policy shifts, compliance burdens, data rules and geopolitical tensions. Reuters reported this month that Beijing has been signalling a more open stance to foreign business even as it works to reverse a decline in foreign direct investment. For Chinese firms heading south, Southeast Asia offers growth, manufacturing diversification and access to younger consumer markets, but it also presents a patchwork of tax regimes, legal systems and political risks that can complicate expansion plans. That is precisely the gap the Nanjing centre says it wants to fill.

The launch also reflects a wider Singapore strategy of exporting professional and business services alongside capital and trade links. Earlier alliance messaging around the Shanghai centre described a “hunt in a pack” model in which multiple associations expand together so companies can tap a bundled network rather than isolated advisers. That approach appears to be carrying over into Nanjing, with the added emphasis on helping Chinese enterprises invest in Singapore and across ASEAN, not only on helping Singapore firms move into China.
