NW Arkansas Band Project 1268 Hitting Airwaves in U.K.
Northwest Arkansas’ hottest pop band Project 1268 is hitting the airwaves in the United Kingdom with their new song Bravery and Apathy. The song, which was released earlier this summer, has become quite popular with the British getting up to 20 plays a week on Britain’s largest Internet radio station Amazing Radio, along with plays in the U.S.

The song hits the rock segment with this remastered anthem and is gaining the attention of rock listeners and reviewers alike.

British music reviewer Tamera Jenna said the song was “a roaring statement of defiance, introspection, and raw power.”

“The song isn’t just about powerful music. It’s also about meaningful content,” she said. “The lyrics are thought provoking, demanding multiple listens to truly unpack the layers of meaning.”

In the true style of the band, “Bravery and Apathy” focuses on the thoughts of society and reflects the challenges between letting your voice be heard or remaining complacent in the challenges of the world.

The band was formed by the songwriting and performing duo of Craig Brown and Haley Webster, two high school friends from Oklahoma. The duo recently placed sixth in a national contest for the chance to perform in New York City.
Brown said it’s always amazing when they hear their songs get picked up by stations heard around the world.

“We can’t believe it sometimes. Our daily life goes by then we hear our songs are getting multiple plays on Britain’s largest Internet radio station. To think someone over there is driving along and listening to something we wrote and recorded is sometimes overwhelming,” he said.

Webster said each of their songs has their own message, but each one speaks to the same thing – connecting with human beings regardless of where they live.

“Our purpose in our lyrics is to connect with other human beings. To say, ‘I’ll start the conversation: here’s my experience.’ I reach out to them, and they hear my story; we are connected,” she said. “If that story resonates with them, it strengthens and encourages both of us because we feel understood and acceptable. Knowing that is powerful.”

“Bravery and Apathy” is the fourth song by the group to be picked up by the station this year. Other songs that have resonated with listeners both here in the U.S. and abroad include “Happiness” and “Put The Needle Down” as well as the album “Scarce Commodities.”

The new single and the group’s other songs are available on Spotify and many of their music videos can be seen on YouTube. For more information, visit the group’s website at www.project1268.com. The group can also be reached through Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. For bookings go to https://project1268.com/bookings or contact randy@rdgpr.com.

The House That Ruth Built by Kelly Bennett, illustrated by Susanna Covelli, pub. by Familius

The House That Ruth Built by Kelly Bennett: Historical facts included are diverse, inclusive, and accurate with information about the segregated leagues of the time included in the sidebar facts.

Children’s Book Council calls Kelly Bennett’s baseball picture book recreating Babe Ruth’s famous home run that opened Yankee Stadium a winner

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — It was author Kelly Bennett’s love of baseball—sparked by her semi-pro catcher grandfather’s stories—that led her on a yearslong mission to create The House That Ruth Built a picture book about the opening day game in the original Yankee Stadium, the NY Yankees first official home ballpark, the world’s biggest, tallest, grandest stadium of the time.

On April 18, 1923, Yankee Stadium, hosted its first ever baseball game: NY Yankees against the Boston Red Sox. With The House That Ruth Built, award-winning author Kelly Bennett recreates the excitement of that opening day game—the stadium, the fans, the food, the pigeons…Watch out!, players taking the field, the Umpire’s “Play ball!”—and the big question. Could the Babe come through? Prior to the game, legendary slugger Babe Ruth—the Great Bambino, King of Swing, the Big Bam—said, “I’d give a year of my life if I could hit a home run on opening day of this great new park.” Could the Babe come through?

Vivid, vibrant true-to-event illustrations reminiscent of Norman Rockwell, created by Susanna Covelli, go hand-in-hand with the lyrical text to recreate the sights and feel of that first baseball game that very first fateful game that christened The House That Ruth Built. Bennett collaborated with several baseball organizations to get the details of this book just right. Historical facts included are diverse, inclusive, and accurate.

Bennett dedicated the book to her grandfather, Joe Silva, a semi-pro catcher, who played baseball with Babe Ruth on Barnstorming trips to California. “We’re a baseball family,” Bennett said. “I used to keep stats for my kids’ baseball and softball teams. I think it’s really, for me, an underrated sport to a lot of people. With baseball you never know what’s going to happen. In basketball, you know everyone is going for the basket. In football, you know they’re going for the end zone. In baseball, you have no idea where the ball is going, yet everyone’s brains is going 100 miles per hour.”

Over 85 seasons, Yankee Stadium hosted 6,581 NY Yankees regular season games, 161 postseason games—more than any other stadium in baseball history—and 33 World Series. The Yanks weren’t the only Big-League team to call Yankee Stadium “home” either. On July 5, 1930, the Stadium hosted its first baseball game between Negro League teams and over the next 18 years, until 1948, served as home field for teams fielding future Hall of Famers such as Satchel Paige, “Pop” Lloyd, Cool Papa Bell, Josh Gibson, and Jackie Robinson.

Baseball Aficionados of all ages —Yankees fans or not—will linger over the sidebars of baseball history, trivia, and vintage photographs. The House That Ruth Built (published by Familius) is available everywhere books are sold.
