HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 22 January 2026 – This news release is made by Johnson Electric Holdings Limited (“Johnson Electric” or the “Company” and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) for the business operations and selected unaudited financial information of the Group for the nine months ended 31 December 2025.

The Group’s sales for the nine months ended 31 December 2025 were US$2,726 million compared to US$2,730 million for the same period in the previous financial year, a decrease of approximately US$4 million. Exchange rate movements had a favourable impact of US$40 million on the Group’s sales during the period.

Sales of Automotive Products Group (“APG”)

APG’s sales for the nine months ended 31 December 2025 were US$2,301 million, a decrease of US$14 million or 1% compared to the same period in financial year 24/25. Excluding currency effects, APG’s sales decreased by US$49 million or 2%.

The division’s sales changes by region, excluding currency effects, were as follows:

Nine months ended
31 December 2025
Asia-Pacific 6% Decrease
Europe, the Middle East and Africa 1% Decrease
Americas 1% Increase
Total 2% Decrease

In Asia-Pacific, sales decreased by 6%, driven by pricing adjustments implemented to remain competitive and weaker demand for non-domestic car brands in China, which has historically been a strong market for APG. This was partially offset by growth in sales to domestic car brands. Sales of products for thermal management, steering and closure applications, together with oil pumps decreased, partially offset by increased sales of products for braking, vision and transmission applications.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”), sales decreased by 1%. Sales of products for closure, vision and thermal management applications decreased, mitigated by increased sales of oil pumps, powder metal components and other products for transmission applications.

In the Americas, sales increased by 1%. Sales of powder metal components, oil pumps and products for thermal management applications increased, largely offset by decreased sales of products for braking and engine and fuel management applications due to the phasing out of certain programs.

Sales of Industry Products Group (“IPG”)

IPG’s sales for the nine months ended 31 December 2025 were US$425 million, an increase of US$10 million or 2% compared to the same period in the previous financial year. Excluding currency effects, IPG’s sales increased by US$5 million or 1%. The overall performance reflects a mixed regional picture, shaped by varying market and customer dynamics.

The division’s sales changes by region, excluding currency effects, were as follows:

Nine months ended
31 December 2025
Asia-Pacific 1% Decrease
Europe, the Middle East and Africa 6% Increase
Americas 2% Decrease
Total 1% Increase

In Asia-Pacific, sales decreased by 1%, primarily due to significant price competition affecting both IPG and some of its customers in certain product segments. Consequently, sales of products for food and beverage, floor care and printer applications decreased. This was largely offset by increased sales for lawn and garden, medical and data centre cooling applications.

In EMEA, sales increased by 6%, driven by a combination of inventory replenishment by certain customers following their consumption of previous inventory surpluses, as well as the launch of new products. This resulted in increased sales of products for lawn and garden, and heating applications and flexible printed circuits. This was partially offset by a decrease in sales of products for beverage applications.

In the Americas, sales decreased by 2% mainly due to the combined effects of reduced demand from certain customers and some programs reaching end of life. This resulted in decreased sales of products for ventilation and surgical applications. This was partially offset by stronger sales of piezo motors and piezo motion subsystems, which benefited from strong demand for high-precision equipment for semiconductor manufacturing and medical drug-dosing systems.

Chairman’s Comments on Sales Performance and Outlook

Commenting on the Group’s sales performance and near-term outlook, Dr. Patrick Shui-Chung Wang, Chairman and Chief Executive, said: “Johnson Electric’s sales for the financial year to date have remained stable, reflecting generally subdued macroeconomic conditions and high levels of uncertainty related to geopolitics and US trade policies. Based on current trading conditions and customer orders, full-year Group sales are expected to be broadly similar to the prior year. In this environment, Johnson Electric remains focused on executing its strategy to deliver long-term value through innovation, operational excellence, and a resilient global supply chain.”

Pioneering Logistics Data Connectivity to Empower SME Financing

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 January 2026 – In response to the evolving global trade landscape and accelerating digital transformation, Hong Kong is consolidating its strength and reinforcing its position as an International Trade Centre while driving industry digitalisation. PAO Bank Limited (“PAObank”) has actively support the HKSAR Government’s initiatives to promote data-sharing infrastructure and financial technology development. PAObank adopted data from “Port Community System” (“PCS”), serving as a pilot case to explore the potential of the PCS data in replacing traditional freight documentation. PAObank has been invited to join PCS Rollout Ceremony, sharing professional insights on leveraging cargo data to promote digital trade finance.

The PCS enables interoperability of logistics data across sea, land and air transport, establishing a comprehensive and reliable logistics footprint for cargo transiting through Hong Kong. PAObank, as the first digital bank to participate in the Commercial Data Interchange initiative, has become a leader in harnessing alternative data to streamline financing process. PAObank was invited to PCS Rollout Ceremony on 16 January to share its practical experience in utilising PCS for trade finance. The real-time import/export customs declaration and cargo data provided by PCS empower banks to better understand the trade and capital flows of SMEs, thereby reducing credit costs and enhancing the efficiency of trade finance.

Mr. Ambrose Wong, Alternate Chief Executive & Chief Risk Officer of PAObank, remarked in the panel discussion, “As one of the Ping An Group’s integrated financial platforms in Hong Kong, PAObank is driven by the vision of empowering finance through technology. We are at the forefront of utilising alternative data to simplify SME financing and establishing industry benchmarks. Traditional port information is often fragmented, and banks lack access to consolidated trade data, making it difficult to assess business operations and credit risks in a timely and accurate manner, which affects financing efficiency. PCS provides unified, reliable, and comprehensive logistics data, further breaking down industry data barriers. This enables banks to access real-time data, quickly and accurately evaluate SME business conditions, and conduct more precise credit approvals to meet SMEs’ funding needs and help them seize business opportunities.”

Mr Ambrose Wong continued, “PAObank is honoured to serve as one of the pilot cases for the PCS, contributing to system optimisation and the realisation of cross-sector data sharing. PAObank will continue to support the HKSAR Government in jointly promoting the digitalisation of trade finance, deepening application scenarios, and enabling more SMEs to benefit from robust data-sharing infrastructure, contributing to strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international financial and trade centre.”

Looking ahead, as part of Ping An Group’s integrated financial platforms in Hong Kong, PAObank will continue to strengthen its commercial data utilisation, integrating diverse data from trade, logistics and finance to unlock data potential. The bank will continue to be the trade partner, offering banking services including foreign currency deposits, cross-border remittance, and foreign currency exchange to help SMEs unlock their business potential. In addition, PAObank is actively developing innovative financial technologies to provide more diversified services for SMEs and individual customers, working together to promote the sustainable and healthy development of Hong Kong’s economy.

CASABLANCA, MOROCCO – EQS Newswire – 14 January 2026 – ORUN, a subsidiary of African Currency Network (https://ORUN.Africa), announces the launch of the first edition of Heirs of Greatness Day, a foundational initiative that brought together key players from the cultural and creative industries (CCI) in Casablanca.

Conceived as a structuring activation, Heirs of Greatness Day is part of the deployment of a strategic platform combining vision, method, and action. The initiative aims to position CCIs as levers for sustainable development, cultural sovereignty, and African soft power.

Held in a continental context marked by the Africa Cup of Nations and heightened international attention on the continent, the event affirms Casablanca as a symbolic crossroads where creation, transmission, and global projection converge.

At the heart of this activation is The Sovereign Code, the foundational methodology developed by ORUN, structured around three complementary pillars: Memory, Structure, and Transmission. Serving as a true reference framework, The Sovereign Code informs all ORUN programs and seeks to transform African cultural heritage into sustainable value-creation systems that are measurable and enduring.

Heirs of Greatness Day gives concrete expression to this methodology by highlighting the seven Houses of Art: Weaving, Foundry, Crochet, Tannery, Dyeing, Ceramics, and Tailoring. Designed as spaces for transmission, experimentation, and structuring, these Houses bring together master artisans, designers, and partners around a shared ambition: to create a dialogue between ancestral know-how and contemporary standards of creativity, quality, and responsibility.

On this occasion, Roméo Moukagny (Gabon, Senegal), Kader Diaby (Ivory Coast), Anil Padia (Kenya), Jennifer Mulli (Kenya), Henri Philippe Maidou (Central African Republic), Sonia Ahmimou (Morocco, France), and Lucette Holland (Senegal, France) presented works and approaches embodying a rigorous vision of African creation, deeply rooted in local territories while fully oriented toward the international stage.

The day’s program was designed as an immersive and narrative experience, blending institutional sequences, artistic installations, editorial exchanges, and symbolic moments. The evening featured the presence of Her Majesty Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi, Queen of the Yoruba People in Nigeria; Olivia Yacé, Miss Ivory Coast, Miss World Africa 2022, 2nd Runner-up Miss World 2022 and Miss Universe nominee; as well as singer Singuila, all coming together to celebrate greatness and exemplify the dialogue between cultural heritage, contemporary creation, and international influence..

The Sovereign Code – Build to outlast time

This cultural showcase reflects ORUN’s commitment to anchoring Heirs of Greatness Day in a continuity that goes beyond a single event. It was also the occasion for ORUN to receive ISO 20121 certification, attesting to its commitment to responsible and sustainable event management aligned with international standards.

This sustainability policy aligns with ORUN’s mission, The Sovereign Code (Memory, Structure, Transmission), and the core values guiding its action: Transmission, Responsibility, Inclusion and Equity, Excellence and Rigor, Local Anchoring and Lasting Impact, Integrity and Transparency. These principles structure all of ORUN’s commitments and its relationships with partners and stakeholders.

The initiative also benefited from significant diplomatic and institutional support, highlighting the growing recognition of cultural and creative industries as strategic sectors in Africa’s development trajectories. The presence of personalities from cultural, institutional, and international spheres reinforces the symbolic reach and credibility of this first edition.

Finally, Heirs of Greatness Day is part of an ambitious trajectory led by ORUN toward 2025-2030: structuring cultural sectors, building the capacities of designers and artisans, creating skilled employment, developing local value chains, and promoting African talent on the global stage.

This first edition thus marks the starting point of a movement set to establish a lasting presence in the continent’s cultural and economic ecosystem.

China’s consumer prices climbed at their fastest pace in nearly three years in December while factory-gate deflation eased, adding to evidence that price pressures are stabilising even as demand remains uneven across the economy.

China prices show firmer momentum

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed annual consumer price inflation accelerating to its strongest level since early 2022, driven by higher food costs and a gradual recovery in some service categories. At the same time, producer prices fell at a slower pace, marking a further moderation in factory-gate deflation that has weighed on corporate margins for much of the past year.

The figures offer a nuanced picture for policymakers in Beijing. Households have faced prolonged price weakness amid a sluggish property sector and cautious consumer spending, while manufacturers have struggled with excess capacity and weak external demand. December’s readings suggest those deflationary forces may be losing intensity, though not disappearing altogether.

Food prices were a key driver of the headline consumer inflation increase. Pork prices rose on a low base after earlier declines, while seasonal demand pushed up costs for fresh vegetables and other staples. Core inflation, which strips out volatile food and energy components, also edged higher, pointing to tentative improvement in underlying demand rather than a one-off spike.

Economists noted that service prices, including travel and leisure, showed firmer momentum as domestic tourism and entertainment spending improved toward the year-end. However, discretionary retail categories remained mixed, reflecting ongoing household caution and the lingering impact of earlier job-market softness.

On the production side, the producer price index stayed in negative territory but posted a smaller year-on-year decline than in previous months. The easing was linked to stabilising commodity prices, modest improvement in industrial demand and policy efforts to curb destructive price competition in sectors facing overcapacity. Heavy industries such as steel and chemicals continued to face pressure, while technology manufacturing showed more resilience.

The data come as authorities seek to balance growth support with financial stability. The government has rolled out targeted fiscal measures, including infrastructure spending and tax relief for smaller firms, while encouraging banks to channel credit toward advanced manufacturing and green industries. Monetary policy has remained accommodative, with the central bank signalling readiness to fine-tune liquidity conditions if deflation risks persist.

Officials at the People’s Bank of China have repeatedly stressed the need to avoid both deflation and excessive stimulus that could inflate asset bubbles. The December inflation readings strengthen the argument that incremental measures are gaining traction, though the pace of recovery remains modest by historical standards.

Market reaction to the data was measured. Equity investors focused on the prospect of improving corporate pricing power, while bond yields remained anchored by expectations that policy support would continue. Currency markets showed little volatility, reflecting the broader view that China’s recovery will be gradual rather than abrupt.

Structural factors continue to shape the inflation outlook. Demographic changes, a high household savings rate and productivity gains have all contributed to subdued price growth over the past decade. Analysts argue that reversing entrenched deflationary expectations will require sustained income growth and clearer signals of confidence in the labour market.

At the same time, external factors could influence the trajectory. Global energy prices have been volatile, and geopolitical tensions have the potential to disrupt supply chains. Any renewed surge in commodity costs would feed into producer prices first, with a lagged effect on consumers.

Republic of Korea delivered its largest current account surplus ever recorded for a November, underpinned by a sharp rebound in exports led by semiconductors, according to data released by the central bank, reinforcing signs that Asia’s fourth-largest economy is benefiting from a global technology upcycle.

Figures published by Bank of Korea showed the surplus widened markedly from a year earlier, driven primarily by goods exports as overseas demand for memory chips and advanced components strengthened. The milestone November result adds to a sequence of solid monthly balances this year and signals improving external resilience after a period of volatility linked to energy prices and weaker global trade.

Exports rose at a double-digit pace year on year, with semiconductors once again the dominant contributor. Chip shipments, which had slumped during the global downturn in memory prices, rebounded strongly as inventories normalised and orders increased from data-centre operators and manufacturers deploying artificial intelligence workloads. Analysts said demand for high-bandwidth memory and advanced logic chips has been particularly supportive for Korean producers.

The current account surplus, which measures the balance of trade in goods and services alongside income flows, was also supported by a narrower energy import bill. Lower prices for crude oil and liquefied natural gas compared with last year reduced the cost of imports, amplifying the positive effect of export growth. Services remained in deficit, reflecting outbound travel by residents, but the shortfall was smaller than earlier in the year.

Economists link the export recovery to the improving cycle in global technology spending. Korean chipmakers, led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, have benefited from rising prices for dynamic random-access memory and NAND flash products, as well as from long-term contracts tied to AI infrastructure. Both firms have announced higher capital expenditure plans focused on advanced memory and packaging technologies, moves that are already filtering through trade data.

Beyond semiconductors, shipments of automobiles, machinery and petrochemical products also contributed positively. Vehicle exports remained robust despite softer demand in some advanced economies, reflecting competitive pricing and the growing popularity of electric and hybrid models produced by Korean manufacturers. Machinery exports gained from infrastructure and energy projects across the Middle East and parts of Southeast Asia.

Income from overseas investments added another layer of support. Dividend and interest receipts from Korean companies’ foreign assets increased, offsetting profit repatriation by foreign firms operating domestically. This helped keep the overall current account firmly in surplus despite the persistent services deficit.

Policy makers view the November outcome as confirmation that the economy is on a steadier footing. The central bank has previously signalled that a sustained export-led recovery would ease pressure on monetary policy, even as it remains cautious about household debt and property-market risks. A strong external balance also provides a buffer against currency volatility, a concern earlier in the year when the won weakened amid global interest-rate uncertainty.

Still, officials and analysts warn that risks remain. The export outlook is closely tied to the durability of the global technology rebound and to geopolitical developments that could disrupt supply chains or dampen investment sentiment. Slower growth in major trading partners or renewed trade frictions could weigh on momentum in coming months. Services exports, particularly tourism, have yet to return to levels seen before the pandemic, limiting diversification of the external balance.

Bitcoin failed to sustain momentum above the $95,000 level as heavy selling pressure from exchange-traded funds weighed on prices, reinforcing concerns that institutional appetite has cooled after months of aggressive inflows. The world’s largest cryptocurrency slipped back after multiple attempts to break through the psychological resistance, with total spot bitcoin ETF outflows amounting to about $243 million over several trading sessions, according to market data compiled from […]
