Three companies—The Littlestone Company, Alpha Ledger Technologies and Celadon Capital Markets—have launched a joint initiative to convert up to $1 billion of essential housing projects into blockchain-based tokens on the Solana network. The programme aims to democratise real estate investment by enabling fractional ownership, automated income flows and secondary market trading.

At the core of the effort, Littlestone brings decades of housing development experience, particularly in underserved communities. Alpha Ledger will supply the tokenisation infrastructure, mapping property ownership rights into programmable digital assets. Celadon will manage legal structuring, compliance and investor onboarding. Their first focus is on multifamily housing in Texas, with plans to scale thereafter.

Littlestone’s CEO, Peter Wasserman, frames the collaboration as a way to “accelerate delivery of sustainable, high-quality communities for workforce families and active adults 55+,” stressing that tokenisation can reduce capital constraints while broadening investor participation. Celadon’s Armand Pastine says the partnership targets the so-called “Missing Middle”—teachers, nurses and seniors underserved by conventional housing finance—and intends to unlock that segment through blockchain.

Solana’s mechanics—fast settlement, low fees and built-in tooling for real-world assets—make it a natural fit for such endeavours. The network already supports token extensions, permissioned environments and “transfer hooks” to embed KYC/AML rules directly into on-chain logic. Solana itself promotes the concept of real-world assets onchain, arguing that its architecture enables instant, cross-border settlement and programmable compliance at scale.

This project is not an outlier. The asset tokenisation sector has seen explosive growth in 2025, with estimates for real-world asset capital on chain rising from under $10 billion at the year’s start to over $60 billion by mid-year. The rise reflects growing institutional and retail demand, as well as regulatory openings. Meanwhile, major players like Securitize are expanding their issuance and trading platforms for tokenised securities, and firms such as Tokeny, ADDX and Ondo are becoming increasingly active in the tokenisation ecosystem.

Still, the initiative faces structural challenges. Regulatory uncertainty over securities laws, valuation complexities, liquidity concerns and investor protection remain key hurdles. The need to map off-chain legal claims into on-chain expression requires careful design, often involving special purpose vehicles or trust structures. Token liquidity may rely on secondary markets that are still nascent.

BNB has hovered near the $1,000 mark as validators on BNB Chain propose slashing gas fees by 50 per cent and accelerating block confirmation times to strengthen the network’s competitive edge.

The validator community’s draft proposal recommends reducing the minimum gas price from 0.1 Gwei to 0.05 Gwei and cutting block intervals from 750 ms to 450 ms, a change that could bring average transaction costs down to roughly $0.005. The plan reflects an effort to match or outpace low-cost rivals such as Solana and Base, which have been gaining traction in the DeFi and trading sectors.

Trading activity now accounts for about 67 per cent of all BNB Chain transactions — a sharp rise from around 20 per cent earlier in 2025 — underscoring the importance of cost and speed for users and developers. The proposal includes a guiding principle: “as long as staking APY stays above 0.5 per cent, BNB Chain should strive for the lowest possible gas fees.”

Validator groups argue that the network still has significant unused capacity, operating at under 30 per cent utilisation, leaving room for traffic growth without risking congestion. They claim the infrastructure can handle up to three times the current load.

Critics, however, warn that cutting fee revenue so sharply could weaken validator economics, potentially undermining incentives for security and stability. Some community voices stress the need for a careful balance: dramatic cost cuts must not come at the expense of decentralisation or long-term resilience.

This proposal builds on prior gas reductions. In April 2024, gas was cut from 3 Gwei to 1 Gwei, and in May 2025, it was further reduced to 0.1 Gwei. Those moves contributed to a roughly 75 per cent drop in median transaction fees and a jump of 140 per cent in daily transaction volume.

Beyond fees and speed, the proposal is intended to enhance BNB Chain’s positioning in a crowded landscape. As rival chains push for lower latency and micro-costs, BNB’s validator-led initiative signals an attempt to reclaim appeal among traders and protocol builders.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has unveiled a new strategic focus for the 5th Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport, scheduled for 2027: smart integrated infrastructure. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, said the competition will pivot to challenges that bind sensing, connectivity and analytics to urban infrastructure across Dubai.

At the closing of the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, RTA inked four key agreements with Emaar Properties, Al Futtaim Group, and the winners of the 2025 challenge—WeRide and Deutsche Bahn consortium, together with Zelos Technology—to deploy and test autonomous systems in Festival City, Creek Harbour and other strategic urban zones. Al Tayer affirmed that the move aligns with Dubai’s ambition to serve as a global testbed for mobility innovation.

This year’s theme shifts from discrete vehicle-centric competition to a systems-level mandate: entrants will be judged on how well their solutions embed into city-wide networks of sensors, roads, communication links and data platforms. The RTA framework calls for designs that anticipate traffic dynamics, weather variations and public transit interaction, while maintaining safety, resilience and sustainability.

Over 3,000 participants and more than 80 expert speakers participated in the Congress, spanning government, academia and industry. The gathering marked the formal launch of the 2027 edition. The Congress also highlighted Dubai’s strategic goal that by 2030, one quarter of all journeys within the emirate will be autonomous or smart-enabled—an ambition already embedded in the RTA’s transport roadmap.

Stakeholders see this shift as an essential maturation of the challenge format. Rather than focusing only on individual vehicle prototypes, the next competition will test ecosystem coherence and scalability across urban modules. According to industry analysts, the new direction presses participants to align with evolving demands in mobility, where digital and physical layers must fuse.

Dubai’s prior edition in 2025 carried the theme “Dubai Autonomous Transport Zone,” pushing contestants to integrate multiple autonomous mobility modes in defined neighbourhoods. That foundation now gives way to a broader remit, with RTA officials stressing that smart infrastructure is the backbone for reliability and public acceptance of self-driving systems.

The agreements struck with developers and past challenge winners will see pilots in zones like Festival City and Creek Harbour, where road layouts, sensor grids and vehicle operations will be tested side by side. RTA counts on these field deployments to validate technical performance, operational cost and citizen experience before full-scale adoption.

Critics caution that the complexity of integrating diverse systems—communications, edge computing, failsafe control layers—could raise cost, regulatory and interoperability risks. Some stakeholders argue the success of the 2027 challenge will depend on whether entrants can navigate not only technical but institutional challenges across urban agencies and telecommunications providers.

For technology firms and research groups, the new emphasis offers both opportunity and challenge. It rewards proposals able to harmonise hardware, software, data and governance. Observers expect to see consortia spanning telecom operators, municipal agencies, AI firms, and road infrastructure specialists.

Defence stocks will rally and global investors will be paying attention, I believe. The reason the bullish analysis is a catalyst came the moment President Donald Trump, after meeting Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the UN General Assembly, declared that Kyiv can reclaim all territory seized by Russia, an abrupt and market-moving pivot from his earlier calls for compromise. In a single statement, the world’s largest economy […]

A newly disclosed vulnerability allows threat actors to surreptitiously install arbitrary extensions on Chromium-based browsers within Windows domain environments, circumventing typical user alerts and security checks. MetaMask’s long-awaited native token, MASK, has received confirmation from ConsenSys CEO Joe Lubin that it is on the horizon, stoking anticipation across crypto markets. Lubin suggested the token may arrive sooner than many expect, reawakening speculation about a potential airdrop tied to user activity. Traders have already begun positioning around the move.

Parallel to the MASK buzz, derivatives activity around Aster’s native token has escalated dramatically: futures open interest has expanded by 46 per cent, reflecting aggressive speculative demand.

Bitcoin’s climb toward as high as $113,500 has added momentum to altcoin risk appetite, though analysts warn of resistance near $115,000 as a critical hurdle for sustained upside.

Momentum behind Aster has been fuelled by on‐chain flows and whale accumulation. One address spent over $1.18 million acquiring nearly 595,580 ASTER tokens in a single trade, underscoring deep-pocketed conviction in the token’s trajectory. Aster has also introduced 300x leverage trading for HYPE, drawing comparison and competition with Hyperliquid’s native token ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s own tokenomics are under pressure. A major holder transferred around 200,000 HYPE tokens—worth roughly $8.9 million—within two hours, moving the assets toward Aster platforms. The selling pressure from large holders is prompting governance discussions: one proposal suggests burning 45 per cent of HYPE supply to counterbalance impending token unlocks.

Liquidity metrics reflect the competitive dynamics among perpetual DEX platforms. While Hyperliquid historically dominated, new entrants such as Aster, Lighter and edgeX are aggressively capturing share through incentives and token distribution programmes. Some analysts caution that much of Aster’s volume is driven by incentive-seeking rather than long-term retention.

The MASK narrative adds an extra layer of complexity. Decrypt reports that prediction markets assign roughly 32 per cent odds to a token launch by November, indicating widespread uncertainty despite Lubin’s confident tone. MetaMask’s path to decentralisation is expected to involve allocation to active users—those conducting swaps or interacting with dApps—though tokenomics remain unpublished.

Traders are watching to see whether cross-correlations form between MASK speculation and derivative positioning in ASTER and HYPE. If Aster’s futures momentum continues, it may draw further capital away from incumbents, even while regulatory risk looms over token launches.

China’s solar manufacturing industry is under pressure as Beijing intensifies efforts to restrain aggressive pricing tactics and eliminate surplus capacity. The National Energy Administration has signalled that firms engaging in destructive price competition will face stricter oversight, while draft regulations threaten shutdowns of plants that fail to comply with energy efficiency standards.

Wang Hongzhi, head of the NEA, published a directive ordering more balanced alignment between supply and demand, with emphasis on improving quality across the solar value chain. His message highlights that continued overcapacity and “cut-throat competition” must be contained to preserve the viability of the sector.

A key focus lies in the polysilicon segment. New standards proposed by China’s Standardization Administration would require factories to meet energy consumption thresholds—6.4 kgce/kg initially, and 5.5 kgce/kg after remediation. Facilities failing to upgrade would be shut. These rules could remove about 16.4 percent of capacity, trimming effective production to roughly 2.4 million metric tons annually.

At the same time, major polysilicon producers are planning capacity cuts via a 50 billion yuan consolidation fund. That plan aims to retire roughly one-third of low-efficiency production and impose output quotas akin to those used by oil producers. The expected cutback would reduce capacity from approximately 3.25 million tons to around 2 million.

Industry ministry meetings with solar firms have escalated in frequency, with Li Lecheng of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reiterating the need to phase out outdated lines, raise product standards, and enforce self-discipline among companies. The government is pushing for cleaner governance, stiffer quality controls, and curbs on unfair price undercutting. Several top-tier firms—LONGi, Trina, JA Solar, GCL, and others—attended these discussions.

Financial pressures on the solar sector have been acute. In 2024, the manufacturing chain posted losses of about US$40 billion. Many firms slashed their workforce by nearly a third. Utilisation rates in polysilicon and module production have hovered near 50 percent, constraining margins. Recent easing of pricing pressures shows polysilicon prices rebounding as the market anticipates tighter supply control.

Emerging leaders in next-generation module technology may gain an edge as the sector readjusts. N-type modules—such as TOPCon and HJT types—are being seen by some manufacturers as instruments to command premium pricing and differentiate from low-cost rivals. Companies that invest early could secure advantages in both domestic and export markets.

A longer-term obstacle is aligning central directives with local compliance. Local governments have historically defended regional solar output through subsidies, land allocation, and lax enforcement. Analysts warn that meeting the central government’s expectations may prove disruptive to local industrial planning. Enforcement is anticipated to ramp over the coming months.

China is pursuing arrangements with allied central banks to store foreign sovereign gold within its territory, aiming to elevate its influence over global bullion holdings. The People’s Bank of China is deploying the Shanghai Gold Exchange as a vehicle to attract sovereign clients to park bullion inside China. At least one Southeast Asian country has expressed interest.

Officials involved say that the proposal involves central banks of “friendly” states buying gold and placing it in warehouses tied to the Shanghai Gold Exchange. This builds on China’s strategy of diversifying reserves and enhancing its status in global bullion markets.

China’s own gold holdings are growing steadily. As of July, its official international reserves included approximately 73.96 million ounces of gold, up from 73.9 million the month before. That marks nine months of continuous growth. At that point gold accounted for about 7% of China’s foreign reserves—well below the global average of around 15%. Analysts said China is likely to continue buying gold while moderately reducing holdings of US Treasuries, both to strengthen the renminbi’s international standing and mitigate exposure to dollar-linked risks.

Gold-buying by China fits into a larger global trend among central banks. Many are raising their allocation to gold as a hedge against geopolitical risks, inflation, and the uncertainty of reliance on major foreign currencies. Market watchers note that China’s moves are consistent with efforts from BRICS countries to build financial infrastructure and reserve mechanisms less dependent on dollar-centred systems.

For China, becoming a custodian for others’ gold reserves would represent a significant shift. It would mean not only controlling its own gold supply but also offering vaulting, storage, and custodial services to foreign sovereign clients. Such an arrangement would involve regulatory, security, and diplomatic considerations—from ensuring physical security of bullion to managing compliance with international rules around audits, transparency, and cross-border transfers.

Questions remain about how much demand exists among sovereigns for such an arrangement. The identity of the Southeast Asian country showing interest has not been confirmed. Some central banks prefer keeping reserves offshore for perceived neutrality or diversification of geographic risk. Others may hesitate due to concerns over sovereignty, geopolitical leverage, or storage fees and logistics.

China’s global gold purchases continue regardless. Observers point to continued accumulation of gold by the People’s Bank of China, a trend seen in the State Administration of Foreign Exchange data. Gold holdings have increased month after month, even as foreign exchange reserves fluctuate.
