Bybit has restored full access to its mobile app for users in India, marking a pivotal stage in its compliance efforts and reaffirming its long-term presence in the market. Access to its website is being reinstated in phases and is expected to be fully live within the next three to four days. This marks a strategic relaunch of services including spot trading, derivatives, options and copy trading, supported by enhanced Know Your Customer protocols and security measures.

The exchange began its compliance drive earlier this year by registering with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India as a reporting entity under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in January 2025. That move followed a penalty of approximately INR 9.27 crore imposed for operating without proper registration. Services had trickled back in February for authorised users, but full restoration remained pending until now.

Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou said the company views this phase Bybit Restores Full Trading Access in India as more than a mere return—it signals a renewed chapter in its India operations. He emphasised India’s potential as a leading digital-asset market and reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering secure, transparent, world-class trading experiences. Vikas Gupta, Country Manager of Bybit India, described the moment as a landmark in providing Indian clients a seamless and compliant trading environment. He also spoke of broader ambitions to nurture India’s crypto ecosystem through education, strategic partnerships and community initiatives.

Legal counsel from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas led Bybit’s regulatory realignment, navigating months of negotiations and product realignment to meet Indian norms and transaction-reporting requirements. The process has been framed as a model for other offshore platforms seeking a compliant pathway into India’s tightening regulatory environment.

Bybit has intensified its outreach in the Indian market, serving as title sponsor for the India Blockchain Tour 2025 and preparing for the next leg, “Metamorphosis – India Blockchain Tour,” in New Delhi on 27–28 September. The exchange has also unveiled its World Series of Trading 2025, offering welcome bonuses and prizes such as cars and smartphones to attract users.

India remains one of the world’s most dynamic cryptocurrency markets, despite stiff tax and regulatory hurdles—such as a 30 per cent tax on crypto gains and no comprehensive legal framework yet in place. The restoration of Bybit’s services under tighter compliance standards reflects its resilience and underscores the importance of regulatory alignment for offshore platforms.

Gold in Dubai opened trading on Tuesday with the 22K grade touching Dh408 per gram, setting a fresh all-time high and elevating investor and shopper concerns alike. The 24K variety climbed to Dh440.5, while 21K inched ever closer to the key Dh400 level, trading at Dh391.0 per gram.

Global and regional market dynamics are fueling this surge. The international spot price of gold has consistently pushed new heights, recently nearing $3,600 per ounce, with August seeing an approximate 31 per cent year-to-date gain. In part, this reflects growing expectations of US Federal Reserve rate cuts, which traditionally support gold’s safe-haven appeal.

Experts caution that the Dh408 per gram summit for 22K gold may not mark a plateau. Elevated global demand, festival-season jewellery purchases, and sustained investor appetite are converging. Yet there is also speculation about a pullback. Some analysts interpret current levels as ripe for partial profit-taking, while others expect continued momentum if support holds.

The 상승 in gold prices is reshaping shopper sentiment. With Dubai gold surges; 22K at Dh408 now firmly established, affordability becomes a pressing issue for consumers, particularly those buying for weddings, gifts, or as long-term stores of value. Jewellery retailers, in turn, are adapting by promoting lighter ornament designs and gold savings schemes to manage demand amid elevated prices.

Buyers may face a strategic dilemma: delay purchases in hopes of a correction, or lock in gold at historically high prices before potential further rises. The combination of geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures, and currency fluctuations continues to bolster gold’s attractiveness.

As the UAE moves deeper into its peak gold-buying season, Dubai gold surges; 22K at Dh408 encapsulates the shifting dynamics at play: strong upward trajectory, global economic tension, and consumer caution all intersecting in a market where every dirham counts.

eToro Group Ltd is poised to pursue bolder acquisitions after securing a substantial liquidity base, according to one of its co-founders. At the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, Italy, Ronen Assia, executive director and co-founder, confirmed that the firm “has cash and cash equivalents of around $1.2 billion at the end of the first half of the year, with a cash position of $988 million, with no debt.” He added: “We’re looking to do more ambitious stuff involving acquisitions,” emphasising that eToro aims to broaden both asset classes and its geographic footprint.

eToro’s deliberate pivot into more aggressive mergers and acquisitions comes on the heels of its listing on Nasdaq in May 2025, where it raised $620 million in its initial public offering. The company’s robust cash war-chest endows it with flexibility to explore new verticals and markets in a dynamic fintech landscape.

Beyond financial strength, eToro is deepening its product offering. The platform recently rolled out tokenisation and artificial intelligence tools targeted at retail investors, along with expanding its global reach. Meanwhile, preliminary selected business metrics for July and August reveal continued operational momentum: assets under administration rose to $19.7 billion, funded accounts approached 3.69 million—both reflecting high year-on-year growth—while crypto trading volumes surged by nearly 50 percent.

The company’s healthy balance sheet is grounded in a successful IPO and product innovation. In Q1 2025, eToro reported $736 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments, alongside growth in user accounts and assets under administration. The firm also expanded its trading products, launching options in the UK and futures in Europe, while diversifying geographic access to include exchanges in Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.

This marks a clear signal that bold acquisitions are on eToro’s horizon—a phrase that captures the firm’s evolving strategic ambition and its capacity to act decisively in a competitive market.

The timing of this announcement is significant. Mergers and acquisitions within fintech and crypto sectors have become tools for scale, innovation, and regulatory navigation. With its substantial liquidity and no leverage, eToro may look to acquire firms offering complementary capabilities—whether in tokenisation, AI-driven trading, wealth management, or regional expansion.

Ronen Assia’s stance highlights both intent and preparedness. The expressed goal to take on “more ambitious” deals indicates a readiness to move beyond smaller bolt-ins, aiming instead for transformative moves that could reshape the firm’s product and regional scope. The emphasis on adding asset classes and locales suggests potential targets might include firms with niche offerings or solid footprints in under-penetrated markets.

At a time when many fintech companies are consolidating or recalibrating amid macroeconomic shifts and evolving regulation, eToro’s proactive posture sets it apart. With backing of a strong balance sheet and public market credibility, the platform is well placed to capitalise on strategic M&A opportunities as they arise.

Dubai is witnessing a sharp rise in gold-driven fortunes as long-established Indian entrepreneurs reshape its jewellery sector. Titan Company, known for its Tanishq brand, will acquire 67 per cent of Damas, a leading luxury jewellery retailer with some 146 outlets across the Gulf, for 1.04 billion dirhams, in a deal expected to close by 31 January 2026. This bold expansion markedly strengthens Titan’s foothold under its emerging […]

Nairobi forecasts steadiness in the shilling, naira and cedi for the week ahead to Thursday, even as Uganda’s shilling may firm and Zambia’s kwacha shows signs of weakness, according to trader assessments cited on 5 September 2025. Kenya’s shilling is anticipated to remain stable against the dollar, with commercial bank quotes clustered around 129.00/40 per dollar—virtually unchanged from the prior Thursday—thanks to subdued foreign exchange demand. Bankers across the Gulf anticipate a surge in initial public offerings over the coming months, aiming to offset a sluggish first half that was disrupted by Ramadan’s overlap with March, followed by heightened volatility tied to US tariffs and escalating regional tensions. They project that this end-of-year activity will allow the UAE to rival Saudi Arabia in dollar-volume IPO activity. Arabian bankers expect Middle East dealmaking surge […]

Abu Dhabi’s G42 is offering 2 % of its shareholding in its subsidiary, Presight AI, to institutional investors through an accelerated book-build, aiming to raise slightly more than $100 million. The transaction will reduce G42’s holding in the analytics group from 70.5 % to 68.5 %, while retaining majority control. First Abu Dhabi Bank and Jefferies are acting as joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners, with International Securities serving as joint bookrunner.

Demand for the placement has been strong, with books reportedly fully covered ahead of finalisation. Settlement is expected around 10 September 2025, following final terms being set by 4 September. G42 has also committed to a 180-day lock-up period before any further sale of its Presight shares.

The strategic purpose behind G42 lowers Presight AI stake via ABB is to broaden and institutionalise Presight’s investor base, enhance liquidity, and strengthen its case for inclusion in the FTSE Emerging Market Index. Greater free float and international institutional ownership would increase trading activity and appeal to passive investment funds.

Presight AI, which listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in 2023, has posted strong financials through 2025. Its share price has risen by approximately 67 % year-to-date, closing recently at AED 3.47. In the first half of 2025, organic revenue grew by 33.5 %, supported by new domestic contracts. In the second quarter, group net profit rose by nearly 8 % to Dh77 million, with revenue up by over 53 % to Dh523.9 million. International markets now contribute 26.8 % of revenue, up from just 4.9 % a year earlier.

G42 group CFO Ricky Thirion described Presight as “a critical pillar of the G42 ecosystem and a cornerstone of our Intelligence Grid offering,” noting that its performance reflects consistent growth and strong leadership.

Regionally, secondary offerings like this one are gaining traction. In 2025, follow-on sales across the Middle East have raised roughly $3.7 billion, surpassing IPO proceeds—a sign of deepening market maturity.

The placement’s proceeds will go entirely to G42, with no dilution or impact on other shareholders or Presight’s operations.

Abu Dhabi’s G42 has therefore engineered a measured recalibration of its ownership in Presight AI—G42 lowers Presight AI stake via ABB—while securing capital, expanding its shareholder base, and positioning the company for broader market inclusion and visibility.

Tether is weighing entry into the gold industry by initiating discussions with mining, refining, trading and royalty firms to channel its crypto-generated profits into bullion-linked ventures. The company holds US $8.7 billion in gold reserves stored in Zurich as collateral, and already holds a minority stake in a royalty firm, with talks underway to expand that involvement. This move marks a strategic shift toward physical assets, seeking to broaden its exposure across the gold supply chain and diversify beyond the cryptocurrency market. While CEO Paolo Ardoino has likened gold to “natural bitcoin”, the gold sector has responded to the overture with caution and scepticism.

Tether’s consideration of investments in new realms of the gold industry underscores a calculated attempt to strengthen its position beyond USDT’s dollar peg. The firm has reportedly held talks with multiple royalty companies and even mining investment vehicles—but not all discussions have yielded results. Notably, Tether’s efforts include growing its exposure via Elemental Altus, a Toronto-listed gold royalty company in which it holds a minority stake, with potential for further investment. Talks with Terranova Resources reportedly ended without agreement.

Tether already anchors its stablecoin operations with nearly US $8.7 billion in gold backing, using physical bullion to support its broader digital asset ecosystem. The gold-backed token XAU₮ remains modest in scale compared to its dollar-pegged counterpart, holding a market value of approximately US $880 million.

Parallel to these strategic talks, Tether’s gold-backed offering—Tether Gold —demonstrates measurable growth. As of the end of June 2025, around 246,524 XAU₮ tokens were in circulation, each representing one fine troy ounce of physical gold; the total backing equates to more than 7.66 metric tonnes of gold. A paraphrase of the headline above encapsulates the thrust: Tether eyes gold mining expansion.

Astana International Exchange and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange have activated a direct connection between their central securities depositories, enhancing post-trade infrastructure and extending investor access across markets. The move, under the October 2021 memorandum of understanding that brought AIX into the Tabadul digital hub, expands on the existing Tabadul network and enables fully operational CSD-to-CSD communication.

The newly established arrangement builds on Tabadul’s digital trading network, which launched in mid-2023 when AIX formally joined and began enabling bilateral trading with ADX. Tabadul, introduced in 2022, operates on a mutual market access model, facilitating cross-exchange trading across member markets.

Under the framework established in October 2021, AIX had integrated into Tabadul, paving the way for today’s deeper integration via its direct CSD link with ADX.

Assel Mukhanova, chief executive of AIX, welcomed the formalisation, noting that this will bring tangible benefits to participants through more efficient trading corridors and deeper cross-border investment flows. Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, group chief executive of ADX, emphasised that the direct CSD connection supports capital markets accessibility, post-trade connectivity, and opens new avenues for both global and regional investors.

This development underscores a strategic commitment from both exchanges to deepen connectivity, bolster liquidity, and accelerate regional capital market integration. By complementing the stronger ties forged through Tabadul, the new ADX–AIX direct CSD link strengthens market access for issuers and investors alike.

Matein Khalid Gold’s 38% surge in 2025 to as high as 3570 an ounce in the New York spot market is not just about central bank anti-dollar reserve accumulation, expectations of a Fed rate cut at the September FOMC or inflation/deficit angst but also a very rational response to President Trump’s repeated assaults on the political independence of the Federal Reserve, which raises the likelihood of deliberate […]

Financial management is certainly an ordeal for any business, be it a massive corporation or a small company that is just starting out. To some extent, with practical knowledge and math skills it is possible to do accounting even in Google Sheets. Still, modern software with automation functions accelerates this process by a considerable amount. More and more accounting solutions are making their appearance on the market, […]

Entrepreneurship is a challenge, especially when it comes to your own project: a small restaurant, a boutique, or an online store. For many women, starting a business feels like a personal trial, a test of resilience. But in reality, any business is a game, an opportunity to grow, create something of your own, and bring ideas to life. And yes, every business faces crises. But this is […]

ADNOC Logistics and Services plc has secured strong institutional backing through a $317 million placement of approximately 222 million shares—equivalent to about 3 percent of its issued capital—with demand reaching seven times the offering, ranking among the region’s most heavily oversubscribed secondary share sales. The transaction lifts ADNOC L&S’s free float from 19 percent to 22 percent, significantly enhancing trading liquidity and widening its appeal to institutional […]

A pivotal online gathering on Sunday will determine whether the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies proceed with further oil production increases or hold current levels. The group has already rolled back its earlier cuts by 2.5 million barrels per day, equivalent to around 2.4 per cent of global demand, and is now assessing whether to unwind the next 1.65 million bpd tranche ahead of schedule.

Markets responded to the impending meeting with cautious anticipation. Brent crude fell modestly, trading near $67 a barrel, while U. S. West Texas Intermediate hovered around $63–$64. Analysts, including those at ANZ, flagged that any additional supply could deepen the surplus during a typically weak demand season. The softening outlook has already rippled through equity markets: major oil producers and service firms such as APA, Occidental, Halliburton and Schlumberger saw their shares slip between 3 and 5 per cent.

Since April, OPEC+ has pursued an aggressive unwind of output curbs. Initial increases began with modest tranches but have since accelerated: April saw the first rise, followed by consistent monthly boosts—from 411,000 bpd in May, June and July to 548,000 bpd for August and 547,000 bpd for September. These decisions reflect strategic moves to regain market share amidst growing competition, especially from U. S. shale producers, and external pressures, including public calls from the U. S. administration to increase global supply.

Despite these ramped-up supplies, prices have retained considerable strength—hovering around the $70 mark—bolstered by low inventory levels and geopolitical constraints, particularly sanctions on Russia and Iran. Analysts at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia observe that OPEC+ now appears comfortable with Brent trading in the $60–$65 range, a level that could pressure U. S. shale operations by narrowing profit margins.

Meanwhile, data from the American Petroleum Institute indicated an unexpected rise of 622,000 barrels in U. S. crude stocks, counter to forecasts, adding another layer of downward pressure on prices. The situation reflects a delicate balance: rising supply meets lukewarm demand, particularly as global economic growth shows signs of softening in key regions like China, India and Brazil.

Executive voices within OPEC+ remain tight-lipped. No official statements were forthcoming from Riyadh or other capitals prior to the weekend meeting. Analysts remain split: some believe the group will maintain its current stance through October, exercising caution amid market saturation concerns. Others argue that continued increases are part of a calculated strategy to defend or expand market share well into next year.

A looming technical hurdle has landed Bitcoin in precarious territory as veteran trader Peter Brandt cautions that the asset must reclaim the $117,570 level to avoid triggering a bearish reversal known as a double‑top formation. This warning comes amid growing supply pressure and heightened selling activity, marking a defining moment for market direction.

Bitcoin is grappling with the aftermath of a substantial sell‑off, attributed to a major “whale” sale of 24,000 BTC—worth an estimated $2.7 billion—which has intensified caution among traders. Brandt emphasised that such sizable supply events cannot be overlooked, stressing that market tops are often formed through supply or distribution.

Market observers note that Bitcoin’s price now hovers in a seven‑week double‑top pattern, a configuration often associated with impending declines if price resistance remains unbroken. Brandt maintains a strictly neutral stance, drawing attention to the chart’s technical signals rather than issuing a directional forecast.

On‑chain metrics compound the caution. The Taker Buy/Sell Ratio, a measure of buying and selling pressure, has fallen to its lowest point since May 2018—a worrying sign of sustained selling momentum. In addition, Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim $117,570 will play a pivotal role in determining whether bullish momentum holds or falters.

Yet, institutional backing offers a counterbalance to technical concerns. Spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted considerable institutional inflows, indicating that Bitcoin’s role within global finance continues to strengthen. JPMorgan has also highlighted that Bitcoin appears undervalued relative to gold, estimating that fair‑value models place it approximately $16,000 higher, around $126,000, supported by decreasing volatility and growing corporate treasury holdings.

Technical signals remain mixed. While the double‑top pattern persists as a warning, some analysts underscore Bitcoin’s resilience. Swissblock Technologies, for example, asserts that on‑chain indicators show no decisive bearish divergence, suggesting that the broader trend could still favour upward movement. Others, including Jacob King of WhaleWire, point to past double‑top patterns—such as those in 2017, 2019, and 2021—that preceded steep corrections, reinforcing the need for caution if support fails. Should Bitcoin break above the $117,570 threshold, some analysts suggest that $125,000 or beyond could become realistic targets.

Meanwhile, market activity has remained volatile. Bitcoin is trading in the range of approximately $109,000 to $112,000, with intraday swings reflecting persistent uncertainty. Traders are closely watching for shifts in momentum, knowing that a break above resistance could reignite bullish sentiment, while failure could deepen losses.

Amid these developments, the broader narrative treads between technical fragility and growing financial legitimacy. As Bitcoin straddles this crossroads, its next directional move may be shaped as much by whether it can muster the strength to surpass $117,570 as by the strength of institutional confidence and macroeconomic tailwinds.

A wave of profit‑taking sent the Nigerian equities market lower, with the NGX All‑Share Index falling by around 0.7 per cent to approximately 138,737 points on Tuesday—equivalent to a loss of nearly 0.67 per cent in market capitalisation, which dropped to about ₦87.8 trillion. The sell‑off was driven largely by pressure on heavyweight stocks such as Lafarge Africa and Transnational Corporation, while market breadth skewed negative, with far more declines than gains. […]

A federal district court in Virginia has ruled that Google unlawfully monopolised its publisher ad‑server and ad‑exchange markets, a decision that has now been met with a pause in Brussels, where regulators have deferred a long‑anticipated fine while awaiting developments in U. S. trade policy. A U. S. judge determined that Google secured illegal dominance in the open‑web display advertising ecosystem, by tying its ad‑server to its […]

BitMine Immersion Technologies now controls nearly 1.87 million ETH, equivalent to about 1.55 per cent of total Ether supply, along with substantial cryptocurrency and cash reserves. The Las Vegas‑based miner‑turned‑treasury manager has emerged as the largest corporate holder of Ether globally, with holdings valued at close to $9 billion. The firm’s robust position underscores its aggressive strategy in digital‑asset accumulation amid growing institutional interest in Ethereum.

The surge in holdings is underpinned by a flurry of recent purchases, including an addition of approximately 153,000 ETH—a $656 million acquisition—bringing the total to about 1.867 million ETH, valued above $8 billion at current market rates. Such moves position BitMine well on its strategic pathway toward aiming for 5 per cent of total Ether supply. The Ethereum holdings are complemented by 192 Bitcoin and roughly $635 million in unencumbered cash, contributing to a combined crypto plus cash asset base nearing $9 billion. BitMine now stands as the foremost Ethereum treasury company, and ranks second among global crypto treasuries—behind Strategy Inc., which holds significantly larger Bitcoin reserves.

BitMine’s assertive accumulation follows its ETH treasury launch in late June and has accelerated through August and early September. Institutional confidence appears to have grown in step, evidenced by continued investment from ARK Invest, whose latest injection exceeded $15 million, raising total backing above $300 million.

Chairman Tom Lee casts the company’s strategy in historical perspective, likening Ethereum’s ascendant role to financial innovation following the United States’ departure from the gold standard in 1971. He described Ether’s trajectory as a “supercycle”, with emerging regulatory frameworks such as SEC Project Crypto and the GENIUS Act unlocking transformative potential for blockchain finance.

The market response has mirrored BitMine’s bullish posture. Its stock price has jumped nearly 41 per cent over the last month, trading in the mid‑$40 range at the time of the announcement, and showing intraday gains of over 1 per cent.

BitMine’s ascent is emblematic of a broader shift among corporates toward Ethereum as a treasury asset. Firms like SharpLink Gaming, Bit Digital, GameSquare, and The Ether Machine are following suit, each holding significant ETH reserves—some exceeding $100 million. Collectively, institutional ETH treasuries now represent an ecosystem worth billions, with BitMine firmly at the forefront.

That growing interest is tied to Ethereum’s technical strength: its native support for staking, smart contracts, stablecoins, and NFTs. These features enable yield generation and diversified application, attracting corporate treasurers seeking productive digital assets. As the co‑founder of Figment observed, staking is emerging as “the centre of global banking for digital assets,” while ETH’s productive capacity makes it a strategic asset rather than speculative holding.

Still, the aggressive accumulation navigates potential risks. Scale offers liquidity and negotiating leverage, but also exposure to market volatility and custodial challenges in event of operational failures. Security lapses or market shocks could carry amplified consequences given the size of holdings.
