Anthropic has secured a monumental US $13 billion Series F funding round, propelling its post-money valuation to approximately US $183 billion and firmly establishing itself as one of the highest valued private startups globally. The round was spearheaded by Iconiq Capital, Fidelity Management & Research, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with the Qatar Investment Authority joining as a “significant” investor alongside an impressive roster of global financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds.

Anthropic’s valuing nearly tripled since March, climbing from US $61.5 billion, when it completed a US $3.5 billion Series E raise earlier in 2025. This leap reflects the surging investor appetite for generative AI developers, despite growing debates over tech spending sustainability.

Anthropic’s growth trajectory is underpinned by its financial performance. The company’s run-rate revenue soared from roughly US $1 billion at the start of 2025 to over US $5 billion by August. The enterprise customer base now tops 300,000, with so-called “large accounts” expanding nearly seven-fold in just one year.

The rise of Claude Code, Anthropic’s developer-centric AI tool launched fully in May 2025, has been especially impactful. It currently generates over US $500 million in run-rate revenue, and usage has surged more than ten-fold within three months.

Anthropic’s research credentials and product roadmap also underpin its valuation. In August, the company rolled out Opus 4.1, an upgrade tailored to agentic tasks, coding, and reasoning. Its rapid expansion, focus on AI safety, and growing international footprint were cited by investors as further proof of its potential.

The participation of the Qatar Investment Authority marks a notable chapter in Gulf sovereign wealth funds’ deepening role in AI financing. While Anthropic did not disclose the precise QIA investment amount, it was highlighted as a “significant” backer in the funding syndicate. QIA’s April 2025 holdings were estimated at around US $557 billion, underscoring the strategic weight that such sovereign investments carry in global tech markets.

This infusion of capital will enable Anthropic to scale its enterprise operations, intensify its AI safety research, and accelerate international growth of its Claude platform. Amazon, already a stakeholder, may deploy the funding to expand its cloud infrastructure support for Anthropic, particularly through AWS Project Rainier. Analysts note this could meaningfully boost Anthropic’s spending on cloud services, with projections suggesting an uptick to as much as US $5 billion by 2026.

Amid this whirlwind of funding and growth, some experts caution about the long-term sustainability of such capital-intensive AI ventures. Infrastructure demands for large language model development can rival those of tech giants like Google, Microsoft, or Meta.

A looming technical hurdle has landed Bitcoin in precarious territory as veteran trader Peter Brandt cautions that the asset must reclaim the $117,570 level to avoid triggering a bearish reversal known as a double‑top formation. This warning comes amid growing supply pressure and heightened selling activity, marking a defining moment for market direction.

Bitcoin is grappling with the aftermath of a substantial sell‑off, attributed to a major “whale” sale of 24,000 BTC—worth an estimated $2.7 billion—which has intensified caution among traders. Brandt emphasised that such sizable supply events cannot be overlooked, stressing that market tops are often formed through supply or distribution.

Market observers note that Bitcoin’s price now hovers in a seven‑week double‑top pattern, a configuration often associated with impending declines if price resistance remains unbroken. Brandt maintains a strictly neutral stance, drawing attention to the chart’s technical signals rather than issuing a directional forecast.

On‑chain metrics compound the caution. The Taker Buy/Sell Ratio, a measure of buying and selling pressure, has fallen to its lowest point since May 2018—a worrying sign of sustained selling momentum. In addition, Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim $117,570 will play a pivotal role in determining whether bullish momentum holds or falters.

Yet, institutional backing offers a counterbalance to technical concerns. Spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted considerable institutional inflows, indicating that Bitcoin’s role within global finance continues to strengthen. JPMorgan has also highlighted that Bitcoin appears undervalued relative to gold, estimating that fair‑value models place it approximately $16,000 higher, around $126,000, supported by decreasing volatility and growing corporate treasury holdings.

Technical signals remain mixed. While the double‑top pattern persists as a warning, some analysts underscore Bitcoin’s resilience. Swissblock Technologies, for example, asserts that on‑chain indicators show no decisive bearish divergence, suggesting that the broader trend could still favour upward movement. Others, including Jacob King of WhaleWire, point to past double‑top patterns—such as those in 2017, 2019, and 2021—that preceded steep corrections, reinforcing the need for caution if support fails. Should Bitcoin break above the $117,570 threshold, some analysts suggest that $125,000 or beyond could become realistic targets.

Meanwhile, market activity has remained volatile. Bitcoin is trading in the range of approximately $109,000 to $112,000, with intraday swings reflecting persistent uncertainty. Traders are closely watching for shifts in momentum, knowing that a break above resistance could reignite bullish sentiment, while failure could deepen losses.

Amid these developments, the broader narrative treads between technical fragility and growing financial legitimacy. As Bitcoin straddles this crossroads, its next directional move may be shaped as much by whether it can muster the strength to surpass $117,570 as by the strength of institutional confidence and macroeconomic tailwinds.

AI’s growing sophistication is pushing operational costs skywards, as developers and startups grapple with soaring token usage, escalating compute demands, and shifting business models. At the heart of the challenge lies a paradox: while the per‑token price of AI continues to decline, the number of tokens consumed for meaningful tasks has surged dramatically, especially where reasoning-intensive workflows dominate. Tasks once considered lightweight now demand tens or even […]

A notable surge in interest marks China’s gaming community, with nearly four in 10 individuals expressing a keen desire for generative AI within gaming platforms.

A recently circulated report indicates that 39 per cent of gamers in China would welcome the integration of generative artificial intelligence into their gaming experiences. This figure underscores a significant shift in consumer expectations and highlights generative AI’s burgeoning role as a differentiator in content creation and gameplay dynamics.

The country’s generative AI gaming market is undergoing remarkable growth. A detailed forecast places market value at approximately USD 319.7 million in 2024, rising sharply to an anticipated USD 5.3 billion by 2035, driven by a robust compound annual growth rate of around 29 per cent. This surge is attributed largely to concerted efforts by major players such as Tencent, NetEase, ByteDance, MiHoYo and Alibaba – all heavily investing in generative AI technologies that promise tailored and dynamic gaming experiences.

Governmental backing is shaping much of this momentum: the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has been advancing policies to encourage AI-driven innovation within the digital economy, reinforcing investments and research in generative AI applications across the gaming landscape.

On the technological front, Tencent recently introduced its Hunyuan 3D-generation system early this year. The platform enables the creation of 3D assets and environments using text prompts, streamlining content generation and unlocking new avenues for immersive game design. NetEase has also made strides by embedding AI-driven features into its mobile games, most notably with dynamic non-player characters that respond with lifelike reactions. Its upcoming title, Justice Online Mobile, will reportedly incorporate chatbot-style AI dialogue systems to allow players to engage in nuanced conversations with NPCs that may alter game progression.

Cloud gaming is emerging as another vector for AI’s influence. Tencent’s cloud gaming platform, START, developed in partnership with NVIDIA, enables users on low-end devices to stream AAA-quality games—blending AI, cloud infrastructure and advanced hardware to expand access and redefine the gaming experience.

Emerging trends include generative AI’s application across multiple stages of game production—from content creation and level design to character animation, testing and quality assurance. Mobile platforms, PC, console and cloud gaming are all key battlegrounds, assisted by both on‑premises and cloud-based deployment models. On-premises models offer enhanced control and data security, whereas cloud deployments grant scalability, faster updates and foster collaborative development.

China’s gaming population, exceeding 600 million users, offers a vast and varied demographic. That scale is bolstering demand for personalised, generative experiences.

Beyond purely technological innovation, generative AI is starting to influence the narrative and emotional depth of gameplay. NPC interactions, procedurally generated story arcs and real‑time adaptations informed by AI are creating fresh, immersive layers of engagement. Developers – both established studios and indie creators – are experimenting to align with gamer preferences and refine the interplay between narrative and agency.

Regulatory frameworks are also evolving. The Cyberspace Administration of China and other authorities introduced “Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services” in August 2023. These regulations aim to ensure ethical application and secure deployment of generative AI technologies across public services – including gaming.

Novacore Innovations, based in Mumbai, has launched India’s inaugural GPU cloud platform built around NVIDIA’s Blackwell‑based B200 servers. The platform, powered by a ₹44.6 crore line of credit led by Rashi Fincorp with backing from U. S. and Abu Dhabi investors, is being deployed in Hyderabad to serve startups, researchers and enterprises across India, the U. S. and the Middle East.

This GPU‑as‑a‑service offering centres on the NVIDIA B200, an iteration of the Blackwell architecture that boasts up to 2.3× higher peak performance and double the real‑world AI speed over its predecessors. It is equipped with 192 GB of HBM3e memory, 8 TB/s bandwidth, fifth‑generation tensor cores and dual transformer engines, which collectively accelerate training by up to 3× and inference throughput by as much as 15×, while enhancing energy efficiency up to 25×.

Novacore’s co‑founders, Ranbir Badwal and Aryamaan Singhania, credit India’s low energy costs, technical workforce and Hyderabad’s robust data‑centre ecosystem for enabling this development. They emphasise that the platform offers lower hosting costs, rapid provisioning, and scalable compute for generative AI, large language models, scientific computing and real‑time analytics.

As an incentive to foster uptake, Novacore is offering trial access to qualifying startups and research labs across its target markets.

The platform also aligns with wider developments in India’s AI infrastructure. NVIDIA is collaborating with major domestic firms such as Reliance and Tata to expand locally hosted AI data‑centre capabilities powered by renewable energy, supporting India’s sustainability and net‑zero objectives. Meanwhile, the domestic AI‑as‑a‑service market is forecast to expand at a compound annual growth rate of roughly 26.4 percent, reaching an estimated $31.94 billion by 2031.

The launch of this platform by Novacore marks a significant enhancement in India’s ability to support advanced, high‑performance AI workloads locally. Transactions such as a similar move by CoreWeave in North America—deploying Blackwell Ultra GPUs commercially in July 2025—highlight a global push toward increasingly capable and efficient AI infrastructure.

OKB, the native token of the OKX exchange, surged past the $200 threshold in the wake of a sweeping tokenomics overhaul and landmark ecosystem upgrades. These strategic shifts have reshaped the token’s role within the OKX ecosystem, igniting both market interest and institutional focus.

A decisive blow to token supply was delivered on 13 August 2025, when OKX executed a one‑off burn of approximately 65 million OKB—equivalent to around $7.3 billion—effectively halving circulating supply and capping total supply at 21 million tokens. The smart‑contract upgrade also eliminated future minting or discretionary burns, solidifying this deflationary model.

That scarcity shock triggered an explosive price rally. OKB vaulted from roughly $45 to a range between $135 and $200, with reported gains of 160–170% in the immediate aftermath. Trading volumes followed suit, rising sharply—in some accounts by as much as 383%, with daily turnover exceeding $1 billion.

Parallel to the token burn, OKX launched its upgraded X Layer blockchain, powered by Polygon’s CDK and zkEVM technology. This infrastructure now delivers throughput of 5,000 transactions per second, near‑zero gas fees and enhanced Ethereum compatibility, positioning OKB as the exclusive gas token across OKX Wallet, Exchange and Pay services. By migrating more than 90% of OKB tokens to X Layer and phasing out Ethereum Layer‑1 and OKTChain, OKX has consolidated liquidity and simplified its token architecture.

OKX also introduced a $100 million X Layer Ecosystem Fund to support developers and drive adoption in areas such as DeFi, payments and real‑world assets, while exploring entry into regulated markets in Europe and pursuing an IPO in the U. S..

Analysts caution that the token’s meteoric rise has pushed key technical indicators into overbought territory. Yet, many argue that OKB’s redefined scarcity model and expanded utility offer a structural foundation for sustained value, rather than a fleeting speculative euphoria.

Amid lingering regulatory uncertainties, particularly across Asian markets, investor sentiment remains firm. Continued strength may hinge on user migration to X Layer and the successful rollout of incentive initiatives and application-building support.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said today that a free‑trade agreement with Oman will be finalised soon, while Qatar has expressed interest in negotiating a similar pact. Concurrently, he confirmed that negotiations with the European Union are gathering pace.

Speaking at a New Delhi event, Goyal assured exporters of government support to navigate global trade uncertainties—particularly those triggered by unilateral policies of other nations. He emphasised ongoing consultations with stakeholders, including Indian diplomatic missions, aimed at diversifying export markets and strengthening domestic consumption through Goods and Services Tax reforms. Goyal asserted that exports this year are poised to exceed last year’s levels.

Progress on the Oman front appears particularly advanced. Goyal characterised the India–Oman free‑trade agreement as “almost finalised,” suggesting that formal conclusion is within reach.

At the same time, Goyal reiterated that Qatar, along with Saudi Arabia, is keen on forging trade agreements with India, signalling growing interest from Gulf cooperation partners. Notably, India and Qatar had earlier set a goal to double bilateral trade to US$28 billion over five years—a vision reinforced by renewed discussions of a free‑trade pact.

Meanwhile, Europe remains a focal point. Goyal referenced rapid progress in FTA talks with the EU, and earlier this year had projected that negotiations could be concluded before the end of 2025. He expressed confidence that both sides may even exceed expectations and wrap up the deal ahead of schedule. The European Commissioner for Trade, Maroš Šefčovič, is expected in New Delhi in September to oversee the conclusion of the 13th round of discussions, which are likely to address remaining sticking points.

Goyal portrayed this as part of a broader, much‑intensified trade diplomacy, describing India’s approach as negotiations “from morning till evening” with multiple partners including the US, Chile, Peru, and others. He emphasised that each agreement will be grounded in national interest and industrial benefit, stressing that India will uphold its self‑respect and not compromise in negotiations—even as global trade tensions evolve.

These developments unfold against a backdrop of mounting trade headwinds. India’s share in global trade remains relatively modest, at around 2 percent, while nearly 40 percent of its exports to the US remain outside the scope of the newly imposed 50 percent tariffs—muting some of the trade impact.

India’s trade strategy appears to be one of diversification and resilience, deepening ties across regions—from the Gulf to Europe to the Americas. With multiple free-trade agendas advancing simultaneously, key pivots such as the Oman deal, Gulf engagement, and an EU agreement could reshape economic dynamics in the coming months.
